Commercial Description:
Just released our newest seasonal – “Holy Sheet”. From the centuries-old tradition of Belgian Abbey monks comes our Uber Abbey Ale (9%). Aromatic and very full bodied, the beer will pour a deep burgundy in color and feature a rich, robust depth of malt character. Grab a line – Holy Sheet! – or you might be swept overboard.

Overall Impression: Solid tasting beer, hides the alcohol well, and has a solid blend of flavors. I definitely like the name too, as I always enjoy a bad pun.

Thanks to MrBunn for the bottle. Somewhat dark reddish pour with minimal head. Dark fruit and light malt dominate the smell. Rather cloying flavor with notes of rye and malt with a bitter coffee, fruit rind funk at the end that I can do without.

Pours a three finger cream head that fades slowly, leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Raisin nose. Flavor is sweet, raisiny, not cloying good balance, higher ABV is hidden. $2.25 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma.

Bottle. Rather mild ripe fruit aroma. Deep red body, very small head. Flavor is mild, fruity, a bit too sweet. Ultimately, not that interesting.

Bottle Pours a dark brown with a small white head which leaves quickly. Has a fruity sweet malt aroma. Has a light carbination with a good mouthfeel. Texture is dry. Fairly well blended but still has a good alcohol presence. A good finish and has a nice bite to it. Has a full body. A good drinking beer.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a dark brown color with amber hues and subtle lacing. The nose is fruity and malty with a hint of yeast soapiness. Same flavors with additional notes of cola, apples, and subtle vinous fruits. Medium carbonation and full body. A better effort than usual by this brewery.

A mahogany pour with almost no head despite a brisk pouring into a Chimay glass. Nose is sweet caramel with yeast and a bit of funkiness. Flavor has a good amount of dark fruit with caramel, rye, and alcohol. The alcohol provides some warming, as well. A dark fruit (plum?) aftertaste. A decent brew.

Medium brown with an orange copper rust color at the edges. A thin, light khaki head sits on top. The nose has some rich bubblegum and caramel. There is also some strange black cherry. The taste has some rich toffee and black tea. There is also some light roast in the finish with some banana peels and tobacco. Overall, this is a heavy handed and thick brew. If you want something that I would call an imperial dubbel, go for it.
