Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 8, 2009 Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with kmweaver. Pours a semi-clear dark amber brew with a thin off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and citrus/piney zest, some white pepper and a touch of pine. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with a bitter taste of caramel malt, grapefruit and more citrus zest. Finish is bitter with more citrus aftertaste than any caramel malt, So far, one of the best brews from Clipper City I’ve tried. halfonit (419), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Nov 6, 2009 Nice golden brown color. Aroma is of hops, hops, and more hops! Taste is of big time hops. Has a nice hoppy bite with a little citrus aftertaste. Good stuff. DeadGirl (192), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Oct 27, 2009 Pours a light, clear gold from the 12oz. bottle: Amped up hops pair with generous grapefruit citrus flavors and a touch of pine. Juniper berries, too. Satisfyingly sweet from start to finish and then some. Drinkability: A wonderful, tasty, thirst quencher. Rebuy: Again and again. #165 on 27102009, DG. thehoff (567), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Oct 25, 2009 nice pale gold amber color. Smells immediately of hops but there is a slight sweetness there too. Slight citrus as well. Nice light flavor in the initial taste and then nice bitterness and grapefruit peel in the finish. Long flavor there. Nice and easy to drink. HonkeyBra (1264), Lemont, Illinois, USA Oct 24, 2009 Clear orange pour with barely any head. Perfumy hop aroma. Flavor is decently hoppy but decidedly thin on the malt. Mouthfeel is thinish, but not annoyingly so. I’m thinking this beer is like that girl you lust after for years and then finally get her, only to find out she kind of has bad breath. ansermadide (496), Kyle, Texas, USA Oct 17, 2009 Sample at Beer Club Meeting on September 16, 2009. Light in color. Smells like a light pale, but the taste redeems itself - tastes much better than what the aroma hints at. Malty, but light and easy. Soda-like. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Oct 14, 2009 12 oz bottle: Aroma is Centennial hops, citrus, grapefruit, really floral a wonderful aroma all together. Appearance is a slightly amber golden color with a medium sized white head that diminishes into a soapy white film. Taste is a really juicey citrus grapefruit note, mostly hops and some light pine notes. Palate is surprisingly clean but bitter on the back of the tongue. Overall, I like this amped up IPA. Cheers! CUJO (339), Brooklyn, New York, USA Oct 11, 2009 Chelsea Cask Festival: As advertised grapefruit and pine! I think some carbonation would really bring this brew to life, I felt that some flavor and the nose were subdued and held back within the sugary, oily, medium body cask...
