Jwasciuk (159), Greenville, Michigan, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours hazy medium orange witha frothy off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty of grain, and bread. Moderatly hoppy pine and herbs. Lighty yeasty of bubblegum and a touch of alcohol. Flavor starts lightly sweet but malty / grainy and heavily bitter then finishes ith citrus grapefruit with a long finish. AdamSkillin (363), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA Jul 16, 2008 Nice big hoppy kind of thing, lots of bitter, lots and lots of flavor. Totally would order this again! pleasesir (11), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jul 14, 2008 Cask at Thirsty Monk. Bright clear orange w/ huge head and persistent lacing. Good hop aroma but not overwhelming and it’s masked a little by a sweet graham crackery maltiness.Starts out nice and hoppy in the mouth but quickly faded into a biscuity fruity hop thing. A smooth easy drinking IPA, biut didn’t quite live up to the hype Tejas (575), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 14, 2008 Hmm, good IPA but I’m a sucker for IPAs that have a big grapefruit flavor. VERY drinkable. I downed this sucker in no time. Glad I got another bottle but would love to try on draught. Glouglouburp (1872), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 6, 2008 Updated: Jul 9, 2008In short: A malt-deficient aggressive bottle of perfumed floral hop juice. Ok at best.
How: Bottle 12oz, probably very fresh (consumed a week after receiving it) from RCL. Thanks a lot Raymond
The look: Clear golden body topped by a small but long-lasting white head leaving lots of lacings
In long: Nose is very floral (borderline perfumy) with some fruity nose. Taste has some woody malts with a not-so-great plywood flavour. A bit oily. Lots of floral hops with a short but sharp and intense bitterness. Juicy floral petals kind of resume the hop profile to me. I had a feeling of a lingering after-shave flavour!?! Alcohol is apparent and the beer is only 7.5%, I would have guessed even higher. Overall this is plywood, alcohol, biting bitterness. That beer desperately needs a bigger malt backbone. That Loose Cannon misses the target, makes sense.
