mattmcmanus (2), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Feb 17, 2009 I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. The color and aroma are that of many other good IPA’s, a beautiful golden brown with a that sweet hop aroma. However I was really impressed by how balanced the flavor it was. It was wonderfully hopped but surprisingly smooth and consistent. Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Feb 16, 2009 Pours a clear amber with small amount of off-white head. Nose of fruity hops and honey. Floral hop flavor and sweetness with a pleasant bitterness on the finish. Solid IPA. Cool label art too. fidelis83 (707), Clinton, Iowa, USA Feb 15, 2009 Pours a nice crisp honey amber with a 2 finger bright white head that has great retention and leaves specks of lacing. Aroma is caramel, straw, pine, a little citrus, not much floral as they state, some earthy tree bark notes and a pretty large amount of sweetness. Flavor is caramel, a little toast, straw, grass, lots of pine, some citrus, burnt sugar and a little more "cat box" than I would like. Finish is moderately bitter with pine and lightly vegetal notes. Palate is really nice for the style, creamy and sweet leading to a dry refreshing finish. adavis234 (133), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Feb 13, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Dark golden coloring with a two finger white head. Aroma is overwhelmingly lemon cirtrus and floral hops with a bit of malt. Flavor is spicier and lighter on hops than the aroma suggests with a crisp finish. A decent beer but I was a bit disappointed overall. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Feb 13, 2009 Lively golden yellow-orange with a thin white head. Aroma hops – floral, citrus and herbal with some sweet malt mixed in. Hoppy taste of floral and citrus hops and some of the malt comes through. Lively carb feel with a medium bitter finish. Tastes a little vegetal as it warms. Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Feb 12, 2009 Updated: Apr 2, 2009Tap and cask at Trappeze. Pour is clear and goldish orange with white head, lots of lace. Aroma of big citrus hops, grapefruit was pretty noticable. Taste was similar with a nice malt backing and some light spiced hop coming through. The finish is nicely bitter and the mouth was full and sticky. Overall, a pretty enjoyable IPA. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Feb 9, 2009 This was very well-balanced with sweet caramel malt balancing the hops. I believe this is due to a little aging and would expect a fresh bottle to be more bitter and dry. elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA Feb 8, 2009 Bottle from beer tasting. This was the favorite of the night. It appeared yellow in color, with a nose of complex fruit sweetness: Valencia orange, lemon, and bubble gum, I’ll say. Flavor features candied ginger, lemonade, peach and some back-palate spiciness. Finishes hoppy with spicy qualities. This is a great tasting IPA.
