OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Feb 7, 2009 [Bottle] Pours hazy reddish-amber with a small white head. Not as big in aroma as I had expected, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. Lots of tropical fruit--huge on pineapple and a little mango in there as well. After warming a bit some citrus and light honey show up too. Very subdued bitterness in the taste, decent sweetness with a solid malt backbone and some citrus. Not as good as the aroma, but not bad. Decent mouthfeel, quite smooth, and has an average length finish. Very nice, especially the aroma...then again I am a sucker for the huge tropical fruit aromas. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Feb 3, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a 2 finger off white head that dissipates quickly. Nose of grapefruit peel, pine and a touch of herbal funk. Flavor is citrusy with a nice balance of malt and hops, a damn good IPA. FunkyBrewster (436), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 31, 2009 Pours light golden orange with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is slightly floral and piney hops, but nothing too big. Some caramel malts and graininess accent. Flavor is better, slightly piney with a hint of citrus in the beginning followed by a mellow bitterness that never chomps at the palate. Finishes pretty smooth and creamy for an IPA but not bad. This is a nice IPA for someone who hates a ton of hop presence. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad but nothing great. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 Orange in color with a lacy sort of head. Nice hoppy smell with fruits and floral present. Weaker than I like in a IPA but very drinkable.
tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Jan 30, 2009 Pours copper orange with a biege head. Everything just seems very bland. No nose to speak of. Tastes like a week pale ale. It don’t taste bad. I don’t taste like an IPA. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jan 30, 2009 (12oz bottle) Courtesy of Oakes. Pours a medium, frothy white head and a sediment-filled, highly carbonated orange body. Very malted, some leafy hops. Tabacco, grain cereal, amber malt. An odd double IPA. Seems like its light on alcohol, but high on malt. Good. 7/3/6/3/13 milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jan 30, 2009 Nice IPA.....the blend of hops works really well. Aroma is fresh...with some hints of pine and citrus. Flavor is bitter, but still easy to drink, with notes of grapefruit, pine and resin. Sweet malt undertones provide good balance. fdr137 (32), , New York, USA Jan 26, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured an orangy amber w/ a slight haze, but almost no foam. Aroma is hoppy, piney, with some citrus. Flavor is a lot of hops upfront, bitterness, with a slight touch of maltiness that keeps sweeter and in check. Not enough too it for me.
