daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 16, 2008 Golden orange pour, small white head. Citrus and spicy hops hit the nose. Some pine notes are evident as well. Flavor is juicy, hoppy, and has some great malt. This is a very good beer. hubcrawler (36), , Virginia, USA Oct 14, 2008 Pours a clear, golden-orange color with a relatively thick, frothy, off-white head with a fair amount of lacing. Aromas of orange, pine, and spice. Initial bitterness that rolls to the back of the tongue complemented by a mild sweetness. Also possesses a grapefruit and citrus afertaste. A slightly oily feel on the palate. Beer is very drinkable and is quite enjoyable. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Oct 8, 2008 Very good. Hoppy grapefruit flavor, but not especially bitter. Piney aroma. Highly drinkable and very smooth. No taste of alcohol, but I could tell the beer was strong from the thick mouthfeel. Full flavored and complex. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA Oct 2, 2008 Dark golden/light amber color with a thin white head, left decent lacing that stayed. Hoppy aroma with hints of orange and grass in it. Not as bitter I expected. Hoppy citrus flavor with an almost floral finish with a bitterness that hangs around. aaaaaaaaaah (61), Warren, Michigan, USA Sep 30, 2008 Frothy off white average head. Little malt aroma, masked by heavy citrus/orange/spruce flavored hop smell. Initial flavor of pineapple and grapefruit juice followed by a mildly bitter yet smooth finish. Slight oily texture on palate. Solid amount of citrus hops masks alcohol content well. Good beer. 1010 (206), Marysville, Ohio, USA Sep 25, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a golden color with a thick head. Has a citrus hoppy taste. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Sep 24, 2008 (Bottle). Big citrusy aroma, mostly grapefruit. Orange-amber color, white head. Flavor a delcious balance of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, and some semi-sweet malt backbone. The finish is a little disappointing....slightly bitter, but not very intense. shalloWMeans (160), Independence, Kentucky, USA Sep 22, 2008 Vibrant, sunny orange/gold appearance with a well-formed, long lived head and nice lacing. Orange peel, rose petals, citrus fruit, incense and grapes in the aroma attribute themselves to big, leafy, fragrant, juicy hops that burst onto the tongue and give this American IPA a very fresh, floral, fruity and energetic feel, loaded with bitter grapefruit and citrussy tangerines. There is still an excellent toasted malt balance, making sure this brew is not overwhelmingly bitter, but rather a well-crafted, medium-bodied beer with a semi-dry finish that would satisfy even the most discerning hophead.
