jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Sep 6, 2008 Pours orange with thick white head. Aroma of floral hops. Taste of citrus and piney hops. Good hop bite. Would be a good session beer. musher (5), Delaware, Ohio, USA does not count Sep 5, 2008 12oz bottle from Buehlers market.
Pours hazy orange color.
Aroma is of a nice fruity hoppy nature. Citrus grapefruit notes right off the bat.
Taste is absolutely wonderful bordering on amazing. In my humble opinion this is the quintessential american IPA. It’s not overly sweet by any means. The hop flavor is very fruity in the best possible way. The body is perfect as it is not too thin. I couldn’t think of any way to make this better. I’m hoping they will consider an imperial someday. flatmatt (220), Northville, Michigan, USA Sep 4, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours light amber with a small white head. Aroma is strong grapefruit hops with a slight sweet caramel scent. Flavor is grapefruit and floral hops mainly, again with hints of sweet caramel. Flavor could stand to be a little stronger. A pretty good IPA. matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2008 12 oz bottle from premier gourmet. pours clear orange with a soapy tan head that lingers. aromas are pine and citrus hops. hops are the main flavour but the malts hold them up nicely. lots of hops without being overly bitter. very good IPA. carl4beer (394), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA Sep 1, 2008 12 oz. pours dark gold and clear. aroma is big pine and floral hops. mouthful is citrus and pine hops. mouth watering hoppy, then just left hanging with no malt backbone. very good on the hops, but needs some backbone! agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 31, 2008 On draft at Barley and Hops, Bethel Park, PA. Poured slightly hazy orange with decent off-white head. Crisp, floral hop bite. Surprisingly good. 12many (231), Ohio, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Mostly clear orange amber with a small white head and decent lacing. Aroma of floral, citrus hops which is quite nice and mellow. Flavor has more sweetness than expected but plenty of bitterness as well. Nice easy feel and aftertaste. Highly drinkable. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2008 355 mL bottle. (bb Nov ’08). Crystal clear orange with a small head that quickly fades to a film. The combination of hops results in an aroma that pretty much runs the gamut of hop scents: pine, tangerine, grapefruit, floral and pineapple. Same goes for the flavour. The malt fades into the background, but lends enough backbone to make this a very drinkable beer. It’s actually not as bitter as I expected it would be. Pretty good stuff.
