ReademNwheat (174), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2008 Great representation of the style. This is definetely on the fruity side of ipas. Alot of gapefruit goodness. very good brew. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 14, 2008 Bottle pours out a amber topped with a off white cream head. A very nice hop on the nose. Tast of sweet hops with a touch of bitterness. A Nice IPA. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jun 14, 2008 light tan with strong white head. nice malt aspect with god hop balance of bittering and flavor. a flavorful but not too overwelming version .. nice peter48er (127), Liverpool, Merseyside, England Jun 14, 2008 Bought @ Knightly Spirits, Orlando and drunk in UK. Hops dominate this typical US craft beer, with a lingering sweetness and some malt in the aftertaste. Poured a luscious tawny brown colour with a small head that lingered well down the glass. Another excellent US take on IPA which we in the UK could well learn from. robbmotiwalla (50), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 12, 2008 pours a nice amber color with a fluffy head. the lacing is decent. smells kinda like straw. tastes fizzy in my mouth, kinda sweet ending with bitterness NJJereme (261), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA Jun 9, 2008 Pours an opaque honey-copper color with a light, fluffy head. Floral and spicy smell, seems to be pretty well-balanced b/w the hops and malts, maybe too much, I expected it to be substantially more hoppy. Not bad though. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Jun 15, 2008draft at Summits. excellent IPA. definitely the best offering from Clipper City that I’ve had. Huge hop presence on the nose - spicy, floral hop profile that explodes through your nose. citrus on the tip of the tongue... medium to full body....wonderful long bitter finish. all around a really solid IPA - one of the best imo. WolfsBlood84 (103), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Dec 29, 200812 oz. Bottle - Always been a fan of Heavy Seas, the graphics are a bit silly (A buddy of mine calls them "the pirate beers"), but the beers speak for themselves. Pours a yellowish copper with a big fluffy white head and can be smelled from a distance away. Aroma is big time hops, pine, citrus, spicy, foral, grapefruit, etc... Taste is huge hops and very apparent IBU-age and nice malt backbone. Nice bitter hop bite at the finish, very well-balanced especially given the higher ABV for a regular IPA. Overall, above average.
