Feb 12, 2008 Updated: Jan 8, 2009Bottle thanks to franksnbeans. Pours a clear golden-copper color with a moderate off-white head that faded to a soapy head and left nice lacing. Nice aroma of spicy hops, with some green and citrus coming out of the aroma. Flavor follows the aroma quite closely, it opens with some semi-sweet citrus is a lot of floral, spicy undertones and then a decent bittering hop hit. Not too bitter, and it doesn’t linger too long on the palate. Pretty nice beer, I like the spice/citrus balance, but it could be a bit more bitter. Thanks Beans.

Yep this one hits the mark...Pours clear amber with a couple of fingers of somewhat rocky, frothy biege head. Nose of flowery and fruity hops, light vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Lots of broken, patchy lacing. Flavor is of grapefruity and floral hops overlaying a caramel and vanilla malty base. Medium bitter bite with a pinch through finish. Pretty much the whole deal for a good IPA. Nice palate, nicely balanced (maybe could stand just a touch more malt), nice taste.

Feb 9, 2008 On tap at The Old Toad in Rochester. Poured orange with an off white head. Hoppy aroma, mostly pine with some citrus. Medium/full body, very smooth. Hoppy flavor, very much pine and some fruity orange. Maybe a hint of caramel. Pretty good.

Feb 4, 2008 From a bottle poured dark amber with a good amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lasting finish.

Jan 30, 2008 Beer poured with an orangey color and smell of grapefruit. Mouthfeel was carbonated, but not overly so. The flavor was predominantly grapefruit/lemon hops with a touch of pine and resin. Nice hop profile. Good balance from sweet malts and a pleasant alcohol flavor was present. I’d say this is almost a double IPA. One of my new favorite IPA’s and I like it more every time I have it.

Jan 25, 2008 Rating #200. Pours copper with a thin white head that leaves within seconds. Aroma is hoppy with some citrus background (suprising!). Flavor of floral hops, pine needles, grapefruits, and orange peel. Finishes with a long lasting but not overpowering bitterness. Good.

Jan 25, 2008 Is it Clipper City or Heavy Seas? What is this, some kind of Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium thing? Anyway, this is a decent IPA. Nothing outstanding, but maybe a good one to introduce your Bud drinking buddy to. Pours orange with a pinky finger of head. Nice lacing. Aroma of Amarillo hops is apparent. Slightly pungent. Taste is pretty straightforward IPA, nice mouthfeel with a stained roof and tongue.
