Slipstream (734), USA Nov 23, 2007 Updated: Feb 8, 2008This brass-colored brew has a sweet, tangy, hoppy aroma. A solid malt base with pleasant, complex hops. It is forceful, but not harsh, with a mildly bitter aftertaste. This has just the right amount of floral sweetness all the way thru. It is definitely a superior hoppy ale - anchors away! Floback (333), Naples, Florida, USA Nov 22, 2007 Six-pack from Total Wine; Thanksgiving Day. Pours a minute 1/3-inch off-white head over a light amber body. Loose, oily lacing. Sweet and floral aromas of hops and grains. Flavors of floral resinous hops, mild caramel and malt, green grapes, wheat, and very subtle citrus. Thin/medium carbonation and medium/full body. Finishes clean and slightly rounded on the palate. Well-balanced hops and malt. Slightly better than the average IPA. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 18, 2007 This was a good ipa and balanced well ,not to hoppy and smooth to the finish, would drink again if i ran across.CHEERS! MagooinPA (99), Warminster, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 17, 2007 12oz pour with little head and lots of aroma, all hops. Nice orange/copper color. The nose reminds one of DFH 90 Minute. Taste is similar too. This is less abv than the 90 Minute but seems hotter with a little less malt backbone.. A nice double IPA and not overpriced, yet. crazyvin (1246), New York, USA Nov 13, 2007 Poured a nice orange amber color with a white head that had good lacing. Aroma was a mix of pine and citrus. Flavor had a nice spicy hop note and a well balancing citrus malt note. Finish was crisp and clean. Easy to drink and carbonation was at a minimum. Palate was moderate. stangger (155), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 12, 2007 Updated: Jun 7, 200812 oz bottle. Heavily hopped; don’t taste the mandarin orange. Tastes like: Paper City Blonde Hop Monster, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe.
Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Nov 11, 2007 Thin frothy head which dissipates quickly. Light carbonation. Nice succulent hops aroma. Loads of mandarin oranges (YUMMY!), pineapple, a hint of pine and a nic caramel malts backbone. Slightly hazy bright orange. Wow, nice smooth flavor. Medium bodied. Bit of malts for body and a nice hops balance. More citrus and a bit of spicy hops late swallow. Very easy drinking. LIngering hoppy bitterness at the finish. A great, balanced IPA and one that could become a staple brew at my home. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Nov 10, 2007 12 oz. bottle from Matt @ RB. Pours a clear amber color with a medium off white head with good lacing. The aroma is sweet citrus (grapefruit mainly) with some pine and a good amount of malts. The flavor is a pleasing combination of citrus and light pine hops with caramel malts. Medium bodied and easy to drink. This is probably my favorite Clipper City beer.
