mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA May 24, 2007 Clear, amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is all about grapefruit and pine sap. Just a touch perfumey with a hint of black pepper. The flavor has tons of pink grapefruit with a dash of salt thrown in to temper the moderate bitterness. Light to medium-bodied and astringent with fizzy carbonation. Finishes, bitter, dry and very grassy TheCEO (100), USA May 23, 2007 This Beer is being underrated. It’s like a slightly stronger and better version of Sweetwater. I’m very impressed. These hop burps could put an infant to sleep... mbrandon2w (109), Worcester, Massachusetts, USA May 22, 2007 Pours copper with a one finger head. huge hop aroma right away, lots of grapefruit and citrus. also a sort of doughy aroma too. Flavor is soft with a medium hop flavor, followed by a smack of bitterness.
I have a soft spot for this IPA, as it was the first IPA I ever tried about a year and a half ago. Funnily enough I hated it (this was back when all I ever had was miller lite. thank god those days are gone) ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA May 21, 2007 Nose of heavy pine & citrus, some yeast & spice, flowers. Pours a sparkling orange copper. The decent cascade resolves into a tight off-white head that is mostly lasting & leaves good lace. The flavor is burnt & bitter with a comfortable level of acidity. The full body is dry & soft. The finish feels astringent. Right up my alley. DrHomolka (725), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 20, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is perfumey hops, fruity, floral. Taste is smooth, relatively light, a bit fizzy in the mouth with a very slight bitter finish. The floral and fruity notes in the aroma come through in the taste as well. Pretty mild actually. This is a very drinkable, decent IPA that is pretty unique. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 18, 2007 Pours very nice clear deep gold color with off white head. Solid hop aroma with biter grapefruit hops and sweeter citrus orange juice. Behind all the hops is a mild sweet malt aroma. The flavor jumps to life with grapefruit hop bitterness. At a lesser extent is a sweeter citrus hop flavor from a late addition of hops to the boil. Way in the background is a murmur of malt sweetness. The beer closes its taste experience with big citrus hop bitterness long into the after taste. Body seems a bit thin. tomthompson89 (1456), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 17, 2007 nice murky amber color, great wonderful hop nose!!!! citrus pine all the good stuff. Bitter when it first hits the palate then fades to a wonderful flowery taste. really nice. great ipa!!!! spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA May 14, 2007 Lots of hops dominate the aroma.Pours a murky copper with a medium off white head.Lots of bitter hops make up the flavor.Medium mouthfeel with a big bitter hop finish.
