Big fresh hop flavor. Light body. Just a bit on the sweet side. Big but balanced hop flavor (pine, herb, flower). Finishes clean, little bitterness but a very nice light hop presence.

12oz. Bottle $7.99 6-Pack Liquor World Poured Loose Cannon into a pint glass and it quickly formed a creamy white 1 finger head. The head faded slowly to a solid cap. The body is a very slightly hazed orange with minor carbonation bubbles rising throughout. I drank a few of these before and some had small protein chunks floating around and some didn’t. This bottle is free of the chunks. Leaves a small drink ring that falls back into the body after some time. The smell is pretty familiar among stronger IPAs and IIPAs. A solid mix of pine needles and bitter grapefruit. There’s a solid malt backbone That is biscuity with a mild grain profile. Fairly simple but good. Taste is more of the same. Pine hoppiness along with a generous squeeze of grapefruit juice. The pale malt and graininess stop the hops from running away with things but the swallow does leave a nice lingering bitterness in the form of pine needles and unsweetened grapefruit. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Some alcohol fumes pushing through on the swallow. It’s actually pretty refreshing. Good drinkability is due to the body. The body actually feels somewhat light for the size of this beer. An easy one to drink and enjoyable. I’d pick this up again to share with friends. There are better IPAs out there but this is a solid choice. I’m looking forward to trying more from Clipper City. 2/3/07

Pours a small head and coppery color. Hops, hops, and more hops on the nose. The hops give it a spicy, grapefruit kind of intensity. Over the top hop flavor, yet has a smoothness that balances it well. Really good.

Rated 10/15/06: Well done by Clipper City, this is a thoroughly enjoyable IPA. Hoppy aroma of pine and grapefruit not as powerful as it should be compared to the flavor. Great pour rich deep copper color, a swirl of the yeast on the bottom makes it denser. Huge puffy head and sticky sweet lacing, one of the best looking IPA’s I’ve poured. Easy on the palate this is extremely drinkable and the finish is clean with an aftertaste that quickly fades. Well hopped flavor, medium malt presence that is well balanced for this style. Similar to the other great IPA’s I’ve had, but this one is easier going down yet powerful with a well masked alcohol content. Very good drink.

Very pleasant surprise. I saw this in a bottle shop aligned with a bbq place. No one was in the bbq place and the guy behind the register grumbled his way through the sale. I had no idea what Clipper City was, but gave it a try. Very hoppy. But like the self-described note says, there is also a floral taste here too. Not bad at all.

Clear, amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is all about grapefruit and pine sap. Just a touch perfumey with a hint of black pepper. The flavor has tons of pink grapefruit with a dash of salt thrown in to temper the moderate bitterness. Light to medium-bodied and astringent with fizzy carbonation. Finishes, bitter, dry and very grassy

This Beer is being underrated. It’s like a slightly stronger and better version of Sweetwater. I’m very impressed. These hop burps could put an infant to sleep...

Pours copper with a one finger head. huge hop aroma right away, lots of grapefruit and citrus. also a sort of doughy aroma too. Flavor is soft with a medium hop flavor, followed by a smack of bitterness. I have a soft spot for this IPA, as it was the first IPA I ever tried about a year and a half ago. Funnily enough I hated it (this was back when all I ever had was miller lite. thank god those days are gone)
