bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2007 It’s not a super crazy bitter bear, but its bitter, has a great hoppy flavor. I’d suggest buying it. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark May 2, 2007 Bottle. [Thanks madsberg for sharing] Small white fizzy and quickly goon head. Clear sparkling body with an amber colour and very spar lacing. Very floral notes with grapefruit, pine, elderflower. Also notes of caramel, liquorish and fruit. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and a dry texture. Moderated bitter flavour with some liquorish sweetness. Light bitter and dry finish. madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark May 2, 2007 Bottled. (Thx to Sammy for the trade). Orange coloured. Unclear. Fluffy off white head. Pine, citrus, herbs and flowers in the aroma. The hoppy aromas is balanced by a caramelly sweetness. Flaovur is quite grapish and flowery. Has some sweetness and spicy notes. Is medium bodied. Quite balanced. Dry. Is light to medium bitter in the end. Very easy to drink and would be a nice session beer hadn’t it been for the ABV. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 1, 2007 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Slightly hazy amber golden with a tiny, off-white head. Fat aroma of caramel, overripe fruit and aroma hops. Quite full-bodied with notes of overripe fruit and then a distinct, bitter finish. 290407 sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 30, 2007 This contains two reviews: one on cask and one on bottle. The numerical ratings are an approximate average of the two. First up: CASK. Two pints enjoyed from Bukowski’s in Boston. Pours an initial cloudy orange that clears as it settles. An absolutely wonderful aroma of fresh, fresh, fresh floral hops. Is there any better smell in the world than a hoppy cask ale? My first perfect aroma rating. Taste is a fresh hop bomb of the kind that only cask seems to be able to offer. I loved this one as much as I love the Black Oak Cask. Heaven. BOTTLE: 12oz bottle. Pours a light gold with notable carbonation. Lots of lacing. The aroma is a bit faint, but nice of what you get. The bottle aroma is galaxies apart from the cask version. The taste is different as well, but still very nice. Lots of the floral hops that I enjoy.
mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 28, 2007 Bottle. Puny, white head that fully dissapated in a matter of seconds. Light orange murky body. Strong citrus and light caramel. Flavor is a mix of bitter and sweet (very well-balanced). Lively but soft carbonation. Dry textured. Light to medium bodied. This is a good IPA...maybe not everyday IPA but definitely one I will have again. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA Apr 26, 2007 I’ve had this beer several times and get a different impression every time...just the fact that I keep going back to it puts it on my list as beers I’d drink again .... good hop amount and drinkability.. not my favorite IPA, but it definately works...best beer out of the Heavy Seas family Boliv (188), New York, USA Apr 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Aroma of citrus, hops. Nice hoppy bite, but well balanced with malts. Great beer, very smooth IPA.
