JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Apr 8, 2007 Pale amber beer with a huge hop presence in the nose. Sweet grapefruit, orange and a touch of vanilla notes over the top as well. There are some lovely apricot top notes as well. Light chewy hop resins throughout. Smooth bitterness with soft mango flavour. Light malt adds a touch of biscuity sweetness. A really tasty, well-balanced IPA. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 7, 2007 Updated: Mar 25, 2008Thanks to Hogtown Harry for the massive amount of this we consumer on Poker night a few weeks back. Orange pour, decent white head. Lots of citrus and malt in aroma. Same for taste, on the bitter side for sure, with grapefruit like hops dominating. What a great session IPA, was surprised to see the alcohol at over 7%! shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 3, 2007 Pours a hazy yellow orange color with a white head. Aroma is of lots of citrus, grapefruit hops. Slightly malty with some caramel and a nice bitter citrus hop finish. beerist (14), Athens, Georgia, USA Mar 30, 2007 On cask at Aromas in Athens, GA
Appearance is hazy golden with a smallish head. Aroma is huge, big floral/citrus hops. Taste is all hops with very little malt and a bright citrus/piney taste. Slight alcohol burn. Oily on palate. Mouthfeel is resiny and thick, yet somehow smooth and slightly creamy - cask perfection. Overall, a great beer. pretty big in all aspects. I’ve had this in the bottle many times, but this dry-hopped cask is absolutely phenomenal.
kyzr (1119), Belgrade, Montana, USA Mar 29, 2007 Big frothy head with light amber color. Nose of citrus and some sweetness. Flavor is all hops with a nice balance of the malt, body is medium with a hoppy finish. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Mar 29, 2007 Botttle, Tulip, Nice crisp hop aroma, grapefruity. Very clear golden color, with a nice long lasting white head. Taste, is very grassy, a bit of pine, and a bit of grapefruit, with some sweet malts, light sweet malts but still present. Pretty nice flavor, good hops, but balanced by the malts. Hey its nothing huge, but a nice easy drinking IPA. Palate is nicely carbonated, but not too much, moderate to light mouthfeel. This is a pretty decent beer, and would make a nice session brew. Thanks MrRomero swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 27, 2007 on atp @ Coles Buffalo NY. Nice easy drinking IPA. Citrus seems to dominate the hops. Grapefruity & hops blens well. I like a little more hop presence but depending on the situation this beer could be great. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Mar 26, 2007 This IPA pours a little clearer than I would expect from a good one, copper with good carbonation and a medium, creamy off white head. The aroma is very strong and typical of an IPA. Very sharp hop bitterness in the aroma, grapefruit, slight alcohol, pine. The flavor is very bitter and also typical of an IPA, which I am no fan of. A slight fruityness and sweetness is there, the alcohol is fairly subdued for the amount it says there is, bitter in the back of your mouth, not a whole lot of complexity just pretty much all up front hop. The mouthfeel is also typical, waxy and bitter with a warming finish. Probably one of their more solid beers.
