Bottle pours out a amber topped with a off white cream head. A very nice hop on the nose. Tast of sweet hops with a touch of bitterness. A Nice IPA.

Medium sized white head, good retention with a spotty, stringy lace. Clear copper hued ale. Nose is nice, fruity, spicey, some bubblegun, piney and citrusy. Body is med/light, lightly oily on the palate with a just right carbonation level, for me. Plenty of the aforementioned hop notes in the flavor dept., with some hidden pale malts, more tropical notes as well. Finish is almost dry, fruity with an easy hop bite. Nice quaffer @ 7.5% !! Well done CC!

12 ounce bottle from the local beer store. Pours a clear golden hue with a small white head. A sweet citrus hop aroma, earthy malts. A similar sweet citrus hop flavor, clean and nice. A smooth brew.

Golden-amber color with rich head. Strong, hoppy aroma. Taste is smooth, hoppy, with a decent malt backing. Not the best balance, but plenty of strong hoppy flavors to make it all better. Finishes nicely, but non hopheads might think twice..........

Pours a clear amber with small amount of off-white head. Nose of fruity hops and honey. Floral hop flavor and sweetness with a pleasant bitterness on the finish. Solid IPA. Cool label art too.

Bottle courtesy of BuckNaked. Copper with decent white head full of tiny bubbles. Aroma full of citrus zest up front, decent malt background. Flavor much the same, lots of grapefruit and orange zest, hints of floral hops with a nice sweet caramel malt backbone. Nice mouthfeel bitter a clean. Lingering grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Very well rounded IPA, IMO. Nicely done!

bottle. Clipper City is one of those breweries with a large variance in quality of their offerings. I wasn’t expecting much out of such a precarious style. The pour is nice: a light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is even better. There is a very fine balance of citrus, forest, caramel and other floral, spicy intricacies. Really the only thing the nose lacks is over-the-top potency, but this is certainly aromatic enough. The hop punch is reasonably strong and very well done. There are tasty citrus notes, the hop blast isn’t as intense as some, but it is very well rounded. The malt profile is interesting, they have that burned-caramel-peat type flavor that may be found in a Scotch ale or perhaps an ESB. The mouthfeel is just a notch on the light side with a moderate level of carbonation. The finish doesn’t linger too long, but does provide a tasty afterthought of juicy, fruity sweetness. I might be slightly let down if it were intended to be an IIPA, but that isn’t the case. I’m impressed with this offering. Good stuff.
