| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2009 12oz bottle. Dark gold/light amber with a small, creamy head that laces somewhat. The aroma is like sticking your nose over a bowl of tropical/citrus fruit salad. I was getting tangerines, blood oranges, guavas, watermelon, lime, papaya and light pine. The flavor is medium sweet with a medium bitterness that lingers in the finish. The fruit onslaught translates into the flavor, and the alcohol is virtually hidden. Medium bodied with a creamy texture and tight carbonation. Very drinkable stuff, with an amazingly fruity aroma. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2006 Clear amber body with a moderate white head that quickly dissipates into a thin layer of soapy foam. The aroma is super hoppy and chuck-full of pine and grapefruit, floral perfume and some light lemon zest. Caramel, fresh bread and mild nuts round out the malt side of the nose. The body is thick and smooth, really creamy and quite enjoyable on the tongue. Sweet and malty up front, this elegantly transitions into a moderate hop bitterness. I was expecting this to be stronger, more IIPA and was qutie pleased to be wrong. The easy drinking and quasi-sessionableness of this beer is superb. My one gripe, if you will, is that the "triple hopped IPA" seems to be hopped to the equivalent of several regularly hopped IPAs I enjoy. That shouldn’t detract from this beer, but it is a bit odd. Thanks a bunch Ken: quite the treat! dchmela (1452), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2007 Pours a small head and coppery color. Hops, hops, and more hops on the nose. The hops give it a spicy, grapefruit kind of intensity. Over the top hop flavor, yet has a smoothness that balances it well. Really good. adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 On draft at GL. Pours a clear golden copper with a medium sized beige head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops with a piney presence. Taste of piney hops with hints of citrus and floral undertones. OldGrowth (1431), North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2005 Updated: Jun 9, 2006Bottle, from trade with The_Beer_God. Good nose, sweet. Pineapple, peach, honey/caramel, little nutty. Smells stronger than 7.5%. Clean copper color, good head with lacing that lasted all the way down. Bittersweet flavors, like aroma with grapefruit leading the way. Thick, oily/creamy mothfeel, bitterdry finish, well not dry I tthink it has to do with the abv. Pretty tasty IIPA. I imagine on tap it would be a little nicer. Thanks, TBG. Had it on tap at the Sunset Grille gave it a 7/3/8/4/16. Had the name Hop 3 ale. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 16, 2008 12 ozer from a mixed sampler. Poured a slightly hazy gold color with a one finger white head. Aroma was caramel malt and piney hops. Lacing was minimal. Flavor was more of the earthy hop, though not too overpower. Body was somewhat light for an IPA these days. Very refreshing. I really was impressed with this beer. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2006 Clear amber, small off white head. Flavor and aroma of pungent, floral, spicy hops on top of soft caramel malt. Medium/full, slightly syrupy palate. If you’re looking for a good dose of hops, you can’t go wrong with this one. drowland (1418), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2009 On tap in a pint glass. I always had a hard time detecting piney hops until I had one randomly one day, and this one follows suit. I almost felt like I was drinking pine needles dipped in juniper berry juice and then covered in citrus peels. Really tasty stuff.
