Very nice IIPA. This has a monster hop profile and very complex flavor. I love the hints of spice in this one, and they are backed up by a nice caramel malt backbone. Refreshing and enjoyable.

(Bottle (best before 3/08) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/ target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co.) Yep this one hits the mark...Pours clear amber with a couple of fingers of somewhat rocky, frothy biege head. Nose of flowery and fruity hops, light vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Lots of broken, patchy lacing. Flavor is of grapefruity and floral hops overlaying a caramel and vanilla malty base. Medium bitter bite with a pinch through finish. Pretty much the whole deal for a good IPA. Nice palate, nicely balanced (maybe could stand just a touch more malt), nice taste.

Beer poured with an orangey color and smell of grapefruit. Mouthfeel was carbonated, but not overly so. The flavor was predominantly grapefruit/lemon hops with a touch of pine and resin. Nice hop profile. Good balance from sweet malts and a pleasant alcohol flavor was present. I’d say this is almost a double IPA. One of my new favorite IPA’s and I like it more every time I have it.

Poured an effervescent golden with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of some mandarin orange and grapefruit with some wheaty biscuit dough. Flavor is strong and syrupy with some orange and light grapefruit with some earth and grass in the flavor. Some malt sweetness backs it up. Leads to an earthy and bitter finish. Perhaps a bit more bitterness than complexity. A tasty IPA with no major defects or off-flavors, though I could have stood a bit more hoppiness in the bitterness. Still overall way above average.

Thanks, Denis! –You’ll probably never read this, but Thanks anyway!

Pours a lovely bronze body and a tall ivory head. A SUPER floral nose to this beer! Ahhh… The wonderful aroma of a dank sack of hops that are about to be tossed in the kettle for dry-hopping. Super fresh and abundant hops! The flavor has a nice backbone of sweet caramel with a hint of brown sugar, followed by a grapefruit zestyness and super dry, spicy pine resin finish. -An especially well done brew and sitting on the cusp of being imperial!!

Clear amber, well sustained medium off white head. Big hop aroma of citrus and spice and a little sweet caramel malt as a background. Nice medium mouthfeel, a bit resiny, but not sticky, and light carbonation. Toffee sweetnes is quickl;y overtaken by bitter orange, lemon, and grapefruit with a little peppery spice for good measure, leading to a bitter, but not astringent finish. Perfect on a hot summer evening.

Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a sparkling amber with a rocky, off-white head that laces fairly well. An interesting nose: herbal, floral and citrus hops with a light caramel malt backing. It’s been a while since I’ve had an IPA that didn’t punch me with a distinct pine or grapefruit aroma up front. Medium-bodied and slick with a nice bitter finish, the flavor is citrus, flowers, earthy herbs, pepper and caramel malts backing up the show. A nice blend of flavors and a tight bitter finish. A refreshingly different and mouthwatering IPA that demands you take another sip.
