Pours a nice dark golden hue iwth an initial large fizzy head that settled to a small ring and produced okay lace. The aroma has a big nose of piney, citric, peppery, and floral hops with some notes of bready and pils malting. The taste wasn’t has astrengent and piney has I would have thought, very balanced and fresh tasting. The Munich malt seems to work nicely here. Interesting that it goes back and forth between grapefruit and pineapple citric tones. An equally good peppery aftertaste lingers well past the last sip. The mouthfeel is brisk and lively, I would have liked to see it with a touch more body though. A well crafted brew indeed. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Poured a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Big hoppy aroma that is floral and piney. Slight sulfur smell that is probably from the hops. Piney hop flavor riding over sweet malt. Semi-dry moderately bitter finish. Big aromas and flavors but still a nice balance. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with kmweaver. Pours a semi-clear dark amber brew with a thin off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and citrus/piney zest, some white pepper and a touch of pine. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with a bitter taste of caramel malt, grapefruit and more citrus zest. Finish is bitter with more citrus aftertaste than any caramel malt, So far, one of the best brews from Clipper City I’ve tried. Sammy (4051), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2006 Golden yellow, nice head. Hoppy grapefruit aroma. Deep hop taste, not malted away as others I have had of this style. Lace, significant carbonation. A hophead fix, and a but tough on the palate. I favour regular IPAs myself. To be drunk slowly. Thanks Dr. Jay. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, my bottle, via trade with Fyrecrakker05. Poured clear gold with a large lasting foamy-fizzy beige head. Aroma is very restrained, I get mild treefruit, dry UK (and centennial?) floral hops, with quite a bit of yeast and spicy funk arising as it warms ... this intrigues me. Taste is very dry and very bitter - the finish and aftertaste linger a long time, very grapefruit pithy - but there is still an apricot/pear light fruit and yeast character behind it - the malt is there as a vehicle, but stays in the background - nice and funky, an interesting take on the big-hopped IPA. Mouthfeel is dry, astringent, fairly still, average at best body - really enjoyed this, thanks very very much, Fyrecrakker! Radek Kliber (3986), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance: crystal amber clear with mid plus , slightly creamy top. Loose lace shown. 3+ Nose: Good hop aroma, peppery with citrus as blend, some alcohol showing, some peachy feel. Flavor/Palate : Mid full bodied. Solid sweet malts well paired with citric hops. Friendly alcohol accompanying this set up. Solid, clean hop sided ale.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2005 This IPA pours a orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and piney hops, sweet caramel and fruity malts. A medium bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are floral and citrusy. Not very bitter for an imperial IPA but has a nice hops profile. Nice balance. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Thanks to the Atlanta crew for sharing this one.
