Bright copper color with a medium thin soap-suds white head. Thin stringy lacing. The aroma is floral hops and citrusy. Medium-bodied with a fresh hops character. Caramel, fruit and piney hops interact well in the flavor. The finish is nicely bitter hops with a good malt undertone. This beer doesn’t go overboard (ha) with the hops like most IIPAs, and while I tend to like them that way this beer stands up pretty well by its own merits. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Updated: Jul 9, 2008In short: A malt-deficient aggressive bottle of perfumed floral hop juice. Ok at best.
How: Bottle 12oz, probably very fresh (consumed a week after receiving it) from RCL. Thanks a lot Raymond
The look: Clear golden body topped by a small but long-lasting white head leaving lots of lacings
In long: Nose is very floral (borderline perfumy) with some fruity nose. Taste has some woody malts with a not-so-great plywood flavour. A bit oily. Lots of floral hops with a short but sharp and intense bitterness. Juicy floral petals kind of resume the hop profile to me. I had a feeling of a lingering after-shave flavour!?! Alcohol is apparent and the beer is only 7.5%, I would have guessed even higher. Overall this is plywood, alcohol, biting bitterness. That beer desperately needs a bigger malt backbone. That Loose Cannon misses the target, makes sense. TaktikMTL (2786), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada

(Rating #2275) after4ever (2765), Brier, Washington, USA

Pours a hazy-to-cloudy medium amber with a good mousse of white goop on top. Very fruity. The nose is orange pith and a little bit of spicy leaf. On the attack there’s sharp citric acid, and the medium body is very tingly with carb. Long but very mild bitter finish. Fruity throughout, though not overbearing or even especially huge--it’s just always there. Great stuff! Thanks again, Jim! Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2007 Pours very nice clear deep gold color with off white head. Solid hop aroma with biter grapefruit hops and sweeter citrus orange juice. Behind all the hops is a mild sweet malt aroma. The flavor jumps to life with grapefruit hop bitterness. At a lesser extent is a sweeter citrus hop flavor from a late addition of hops to the boil. Way in the background is a murmur of malt sweetness. The beer closes its taste experience with big citrus hop bitterness long into the after taste. Body seems a bit thin. Suttree (2732), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
