Pours a clear amber, slightly small head. Nice citrus pine aroma, sweet caramel malt. A bit of fruit at the end also. Nice balanced flavor.

Pours a very cloudy orange hue that releases a strong aroma of fruits, flowers and hops. Flavor is very pleasant taste of fruit and hops with a bitter malt finish. Clean and smooth on the palate, just a bit too fruity and not hoppy enough. A very drinkable, well-balanced IPA, however.

I started sipping this beer and nearly drank it all before staring my review. It is so easy and terrifically tasty I certainly want a case. Appearance: Pours a bronzed golden color with a bit of orange hue and big head. Sticky lacing stick to the glass in random splotches. Smell: It has a delightful aroma but not quite as big as I expected (rumor from previous years). This has a full nose of sweet malts, creamy honey and orange hop aroma with a drop of pine giving it a floral hint. Taste: The flavor is like the smell. Bold citrus orange hops balance with honey sweet malts to make a smooth easy flavor that is perfect for an IPA. This hardly qualifies as a "Double" in my book but who cares what you call it. Small double or IPA 1.5 I don’t care just give me more =). This beer drinks like juice with a hint of bitter in the finish and a touch of dry that lingers. Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is very smooth mostly light with a juicy center and crisp finish. Nice malt backbone holds everything together. Drinkability: There is no way I’d guess that this beer is 7.50% ABV. It is dangerously drinkable and I would likely session drink this beer into my early grave. Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

UPDATE: Draft at Frisco Grille in Columbia, MD. This beer was outstanding on tap! Big aroma! Piney, resiny hops exploding out of the glass. Taste was piney, grassy, citrus with malt sweetness in the middle and a killer hops finish. Med/Full bodied, sticky, herbacious goodness. Can’t wait to have this one Randalized next week! Original: While it is nowhere near the Hop3 or 3IPA(if there is such a thing) as it claims to be, it is still a very drinkable borderline DIPA. I like the fact that it’s local(Baldimer Hun). For me this beer is a perfect happy medium in between the DFH 60 and 90.

Pours copper with a one finger head. huge hop aroma right away, lots of grapefruit and citrus. also a sort of doughy aroma too. Flavor is soft with a medium hop flavor, followed by a smack of bitterness. I have a soft spot for this IPA, as it was the first IPA I ever tried about a year and a half ago. Funnily enough I hated it (this was back when all I ever had was miller lite. thank god those days are gone)

12 oz bottle in pint glass. Pours nice clear copper color with lasting off-white head. Strong fresh citrus hop aroma. Nice malt character balanced with fresh hop flavor. Medium body. All-around excellent beer. The best of the Heavy Seas line that I’ve tried.
