12oz. bottle. Appealingly fresh, aromatic nose, juicy and citric with notes of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon, spruce, floral sweetness and hints of spice. Hazy medium golden-amber color with a lasting, finely creamy head and thin sheets of lace. Flavor is certainly dominated by the complex hop profile, but manages to stay in balance due to a sweetly malty, honeyish, toasty backbone, while the hops show an intense level of citrus fruit, pine, flowers and peppery spice. Smooth and wet on the palate with a resinous feel and a full body. Very nicely integrated and tasty.

A true beer for hop-heads, I’ve seen this beer described as a Double IPA and from the aroma and dryness, I’d agree. I LOVE the floral aroma, but the bottled appearance - it was supposed to be bottle-conditioned - left something to be desired. Still, if you like (love) hops, find a six-pack and clear your afternoon schedule.

Best before Mar 06, drank Nov 05: Clear orange with a thin white head. Big grapefruit nose with some resiny pine, full bodied with a thick feel and solid carbonation, starts and ends bitter. Thanks Aaron!

Pours a nice transparant medium / dark orange color, lively carbonation, nice head that goes down gradually. Initial smell is hops hops hops - very floral. Taste is mostly hops as expected - in addition to the floral aspect that was in the aroma are piney flavors and grapefruit. The citrus is the main aspect of the finish - the kind of finish you’ll still taste in the morning. Some malt is in here, but it is in the background. Not heavy at all and very easy to drink for the amount of hops and ABV involved. Taste remains fairly consistant from start to finish. This is my favorite of the Heavy Seas line. I look forward to enjoying more of this one.

Thanks go to Darkover for the trade. Bright copper color with a medium thin soap-suds white head. Thin stringy lacing. The aroma is floral hops and citrusy. Medium-bodied with a fresh hops character. Caramel, fruit and piney hops interact well in the flavor. The finish is nicely bitter hops with a good malt undertone. This beer doesn’t go overboard (ha) with the hops like most IIPAs, and while I tend to like them that way this beer stands up pretty well by its own merits.

12 oz bottle: poured cloudy orange with a small quickly dissipating white head. Citrusy, grapefruit hop aroma. Nice. Flavor is pretty much all juicy citrusy hops. Slightly dry at first but then a bit sweeter on subsequent sips. Quite a nice IPA and very drinkable.

Bottle thanks to Mwelsh13: Pours a clear copper light amber body with off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, pine, grapefruit, some caramel and a bit metallic. Flavor is medium sweet, pine, some grapefruit and caramel. Light-medium body, creamy texture. Short bitter finish.

Nice slice of grapefruit sprinkled with sugar aroma and surrounded with additional herbal/floral hops - very strong hop presence. Taste was smooth and almost thick with the taste of clover honey and some caramel, followed by an assertive hop that finishes with a thick resin coating on the tongue. Will most likely drink more of this one.
