Aroma was of strong grapefruits, and a little sweetness. Flavor was grapefruits and pine hops. Had some sweetness in the finish. Little thin but very good. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Pours a clear amber color with a thick white head. Lovely fresh citrusy aroma that gets repeated heavily in the flavor. Lots and lots of hops. Man this stuff is hoppy. This is a good beer for people that like hops because this is a hoppy beer with hops in it. demitriustown (702), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 14, 2009 12 oz bottle: Aroma is Centennial hops, citrus, grapefruit, really floral a wonderful aroma all together. Appearance is a slightly amber golden color with a medium sized white head that diminishes into a soapy white film. Taste is a really juicey citrus grapefruit note, mostly hops and some light pine notes. Palate is surprisingly clean but bitter on the back of the tongue. Overall, I like this amped up IPA. Cheers!

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, my bottle, via trade with Fyrecrakker05. Poured clear gold with a large lasting foamy-fizzy beige head. Aroma is very restrained, I get mild treefruit, dry UK (and centennial?) floral hops, with quite a bit of yeast and spicy funk arising as it warms ... this intrigues me. Taste is very dry and very bitter - the finish and aftertaste linger a long time, very grapefruit pithy - but there is still an apricot/pear light fruit and yeast character behind it - the malt is there as a vehicle, but stays in the background - nice and funky, an interesting take on the big-hopped IPA. Mouthfeel is dry, astringent, fairly still, average at best body - really enjoyed this, thanks very very much, Fyrecrakker! Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Citrusy hop nose, some sweet yeast and light floral notes. Flavor is yellow grapefruit, nicely hopped without being overbearingly hopped. Nice east coast style IPA! bethmatt0421 (319), Covington, Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 5, 2006 I can almost describe this beer in one word. PINE. Huge waves of pine in the aroma. Flavor is smack you in the face, palate crushing, piney hops, big malts, although, i found the alcohol content well hidden. This beer reminds me alot of the Dogfish Head 90 Minute. Standing on the border of double india pale ale. Tastey, but not for sessions. To strong for that. Not to be underestimated. My first Clipper City brew. I approve.
