halfonit (419), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Nov 6, 2009 Has a nice black color. Aroma is of coffee, malts, chocolate, and roasted nuts. Taste is pretty much the same. Has a sweeter aftertaste. Good stuff! fsears100 (2), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Oct 26, 2009 12 oz Bottle. Full bodied dark brown color with a thick head. A malty smell with hint of caramel in the taste. Doesn’t sit as heavily as imperial stouts go. Very drinkable and certainly recommended. Pookie9121 (81), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Oct 25, 2009 12 oz. Bottle. Pours a nice dark brown/black color. Poured a nice medium head. Smelled of malts and some hints of coffee. Similar tastes. Good beer. Recommended. demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Oct 24, 2009 12 oz bottle: ARoma is coffee grounds, malt, some chocolate, a bit of roasted smokiness, and slightly grainy. Appearance is dark black with a thin tan head that lingers. Taste is malts, coffee, chocolate on the back end, roasted nuts, and a slight smoiness. Palate is carbonated with a lingering aftertaste of malt and coffee. Overall, It’s a pretty decent Imperial Stout...not really good, not great, but decent. Cheers! wlminter (10), Virginia, USA Oct 17, 2009 YARGH! Me hearties! This brew be smoother than the voice of a bar-wench after a long voyage, Blacker than a night on the Cape of Good Hope, and tastier than fresh gold dubloons! And at 8% alcohol, it’ll have ye dancin on the plank in no time! YARGH! WVHouseofBeer (337), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Oct 14, 2009 While the aroma is a bit off, more malt than chocolate or coffee, this brew’s appearance is spot on. A nice thick head with a dark, fully opaque body is the highlight of Peg Leg. Again the malts dominate the tastebuds, while leaving almost any hint of chocolate or coffee on the backburner. A thin, medium-light body makes this offering not a bad beer, just not a good Imperial Stout. CP joeneugs (282), Livermore, California, USA Oct 3, 2009 I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It pours dark brown with a tan head. It has a bourbon aroma with prunes, raisins and other dark fruit. The body was a little watery for the style, but pretty tasty with fruity flavors and licorice. Roasted finish. A little wimpy compared to other good impy stouts, but still tasty and drinkable. dykhuis7 (9), New York, USA does not count Sep 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark with a thin brown head. Soft, sweet aroma. Definitely picked up on the dark chocolate in aroma and taste. Palate is a little too light/thin to be an Imperial, in my opinion. A good beer, nonetheless. Brewer should consider calling this a regular or sweet stout.
