Commercial Description:
The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Clipper City will produce only a small batch, so availability is extremely limited. IBU'S: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo

Very creamy and smooth. easy to taste the coffee and chocolate. Not quite as thick as i’d expected. Not my favorite stout, but still really good.

Bottle. Aroma of malt, coffee, alcohol, nuts and a bit of corn. A little strange. Palate features light carbonation and a full body. Finishes long. Flavors are dominated by a velvety chocolate mixture, both milk and dark chocolates. Initial flavors also include some dark fruit – perhaps raisins or dates, and coffee. Flavors then evolve to include more alcohol and chocolate, perhaps lightening on the fruit flavor. Finish remains sweet, with a bit more alcohol showing through. Because of the sweetness, this is really a dessert beer. For its relatively low (8%) alcohol, a surprising amount of it could be detected throughout the palate.

12oz bottle at Puals 08’. Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and damp earth. Nice mouth feel and body. Nice Imp. stout for the price point. We both enjoyed this one.

Hint of cherry, plum, chocolate on the nose. Low carbonation and a unique mouthfeel...not too heavy and not too oily, but well balanced. Finish emphasized roasted malty bitterness and a left a dry feeling on the tongue. Showed some interesting potential for future complexity and introduced more of it’s characteristics as it warmed up. Nice Imperial Stout...nothing earth shattering, but a good effort all around.

It pours a dark brown color with a thick head that fades a litle but still last through out the duration of the beer. The nose is very robust and full of roasted malt with chocolate and hints of black coffee. The flavor is not bad although it is a bit watery it still has some complexity with a nice bitter cocoa and roasted coffee. Overall it is not a bad beer for the price and you can get it just about any where.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a smaller tan head. Nose is sweet, chocolatey, and roasted malt. Flavor is roasty into a bittersweet cocoa. Some coffee. Dry, lingering bittersweetness. Kind of had a porter feel to it, but still enjoyable. Thanks Jeremy.

Bottle: Black color with a light brown, small head. Alcohol aroma with some choco-coffee. Sweet flavors instead of the usual charcoal bitter flavor. Not bad - a pretty tasty beer. Thanks BuckeyeBoy!
