The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Clipper City will produce only a small batch, so availability is extremely limited. IBU'S: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo

bottle poured into a snifter has a dark cola color bordering on black and a thin foamy brown head. aroma has roasted coffee, chocolate malt, molasses, light toffee, and a bit of campfire. mouth feel is at a medium and the carbonation is surprisingly high. flavor is heavy on the malted side with chocolate, coffee roast, and caramel. hops do creep in giving some bitterness but are crushed by the malt side. burnt coffee and molasses sweetness hang on throughout finishing with malt and bitterness along with a creeping sweetness. really quite thin for an imperial but the flavors are pretty good here.

Bitter roasted malt aroma. Dark with a little foam. Moderate malt bitterness in the beginning fading to a sweet alcohol burn. Leaves a coffee after taste. Lightly creamy.

I just had this the other night, poured it into my trusty beer glass, and buckled in! This is my first brew from clipper city, and I am very impressed. Huge coffee, and also some caramel notes on the nose, with a flavor to match, but with the classic malt back. I will definitly be getting more from this brewer.

To me this beer tasted like coffee, which I truly enjoy. I liked enjoyed this beer most of all the Heavy seas brands that I tried.

Nice stout with good strength. Flavors of roasted coffee and chocolate were noticeable. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest.

Pours dark black with a small brown head. Aroma is heavly malty of cookies and roasted/burnt malts and mild coffee, lightly hoppt and moderately yeast, with some alcohol. Flavor is nicely roasty, almost burnt, very well balanced with firm bitternes Ends rosty with long finish.

12 oz bottle. Aroma of chocolate with roast malts. Very dark amber brown. Dark roast malts dominate flavor with a bit of sour astringency. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes moderately dry with a moderate bitterness and a bit of husky woody astringency. Quite Tasty!
