Commercial Description:
The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Clipper City will produce only a small batch, so availability is extremely limited. IBU'S: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo

12 oz. bottle left in my fridge a few months ago by shawnm213. I didn’t remember that until I tried to remember where it came from. Thanks Shawn, and I owe you one. Pours an opaque brown color with a small tan head. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, burnt toast, caramel, molasses, and cola. Medium bodied, with a chewy mouthfeel. Sweet and roasty, probably overly so. Too smoky, which overwhelms some of the other notes. Not a bad beer but seems a bit clumsily made.

It has a deep brown, nearly black, color with a medium tan head. The aroma is pretty mild with subtle chocolate malt. The texture is silky and it coats the mouth nicely. The taste is dark chocolate and some caramel with decent coffee finish and aftertaste.

Dark dark brown- almost black with a tan sudsy head that dissipates into a ring. Aroma is roasted barley, some oatmeal sugar, slight chocolate, and some nasal warming alcohol. Flavor is chocolate and roasted barley with hints of coffee and caramel. Palate is medium to full bodied with lively effervescence and a creamy, dry-roast finish.

A deep dark stout with a thick moka head. In aroma, pleasant and pungeant, bitter chocolate, herbs, floral hops, organics, soy sauce, brine. In mouth, a nice smooth imperial stout with bitter chocolate, soy sauce, plums, light peatyness, very nice and smooth. Bottle shared with Probstk, Nov. 26 2009.

Poured dark brown with ruby highlights. An ample tan head formed. The aroma was chocolate and dark fruits with some roasted malts coming through. The flavor was dark fruits and chocolate with very little in terms of coffee or roasted malts coming out. The mouthfeel was on the thin side for an IS. Meh.

Has a nice black color. Aroma is of coffee, malts, chocolate, and roasted nuts. Taste is pretty much the same. Has a sweeter aftertaste. Good stuff!

12 oz Bottle. Full bodied dark brown color with a thick head. A malty smell with hint of caramel in the taste. Doesn’t sit as heavily as imperial stouts go. Very drinkable and certainly recommended.
