| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Thank you Linus_stick! Pitch black with a light brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of coffee and hints of anise. The flavour has notes of coffee, anise, roasted malt, licorice hints of rubber/vinyl and a light bitterness. Considering the style, I find it a bit too light-bodied. bconger (78), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 27, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thin, dark tan head. Mild aromas of rosemary and toffee. Pretty nice up front with a little chocolate and toast, but no real flavors balance the alcohol on the finish. Very nice, round mouthfeel. Hops profile is quite simple and bitterness doesn’t linger. Less complex than other imperial stouts, but a very drinkable beer. StFun (534), Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2008 A very nice and simple Impy Stout. Too often, Imperial Stout seems to indicate "crazy amount of alcohol in this one" and that leads to a brew that, to me, feature alcohol as its #1 flavor. I like to be able to taste the complexity of the beer, I’m not impressed with a 15% ABV just for the sake of a 15% ABV. Here, PegLeg goes the opposite direction. It is almost TOO simple. Appearance is a nice black color with a small head, but no real aroma to speak of. Taste is very smooth, very drinkable, but with none of the chocolate, coffee, or malt that I’m use to in an IMPY. This is a big time session Impy, and probably a good gateway brew to serve as an intro Impy. I’d actually probably have this one again. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Dark malty stout. Not as complex as the other imperial stouts I’ve had. Roasted coffee flavor. A pleasant beer - no doubt - however, you get what you pay for. Overall, good beer. Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Objectively speaking:
Milder than average impy. A bottle that has been gathering the dust in my cellar for a couple of years. BB January 2005.
I like:
Cheap price. Interesting fruity depth. Mostly lasting head. Still a decent palate, almost creamy mouthfeel. Concealed alcohol. No agressive edges.
I dislike:
Certainly no hops left. Rather sweet and the limited roast depth (chocolate milk) does not balance it out. Not very complex. In the end, just a slightly bigger stout: harder to drink, but nothing decadent or impressive. joshwilfong (796), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2008 black with little lasting head. nose is of malted milk. flavor is mostly of roasted malt, quite heavy on the roasted malt with some chocolate thrown in there. no real depth to it, little alcohol flavor, it does have a nice dry finish i guess. kind of disappointing for a imperial stout. fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Black color with a big creamy head. It has a mild creamy coffee or dark chocolate aroma. Medium body strength, with a reasonable caramel and chocolate flavor; I like it because it’s a bit sweet too and the roasted malt is very limited, but there is no complexity.
