Commercial Description:
The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Clipper City will produce only a small batch, so availability is extremely limited. IBU'S: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo

nice malt aroma that envisions quality flavors of wood and chocolate. moderate flavors are appealing. alcohol type sting of a taste is appropriate for beer. perhaps a one beer wonder it is still quite a good beer indeed. nice refined sweetness slick creaminess and its brown cap delivers on it’s promise as it rolls heartily into my glass. hops enhance a quality stout and is visionary.

Wood, ash, and coffee notes are in the aroma. The smell of this beer is not very potent. There is also an unpleasant alcohol aroma that is present in many of their beers. The beer also has a decent appearance, black with little head, and the head did not have that nice thick chcolate appearance. Smooth texture, a bit weak on the flavors. Slight coffee, ash, and chocolate flavors. Too weak to be considered a great imperial stout. The beer has a decent semi creamy palate. The chocolate flavor is the best part of the stout. Not as malty as their other beers, I like to have an imperial stout with a bit of a kick and this beer does not have that. A very mediocre stout, at best.

Very blah for an Imperial. Chocolate, molasses, hopped a little. Good but not great.

Bottle. Deep black body with a creamy, medium-sized mocha/brown head. The aroma is resiny with orange and pine, sweet caramel, and lots of rye bread. Creamy texture with some lacto sweet character. Mild chocolate bitterness is evident as well.

This was the first unimpressive one of the heavy seas bunch i had tonight. Sweet and with a coffee flavor, it comes off with a flat carbonation taste as well.

Foamy chocolate brown head over a dark beer with faint mahogany hues when held to the light. Light chocolate, coffee and dusty grains in the nose. Hints of an oily mouthfeel. Flavors are pretty obvious, lead by the chocolate and coffee, sweetened by toffee and burnt caramel, with not much hops. Nice enough beer, but on the thin side of the Imperial Stout spectrum.

Pours very dark brown with brown head. Very sweet aroma. Flavor is sweet with hints of caramel. Mo real bitterness I would expect in an imperial stout nor does it have the nice roaste flavor I love. But having said that it is a very easy drinking beer and I am always happy to have one.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Clear, dark brown with a tint of red and a creamy, beige head. Aroma of burned malt. Medium body with hard roasted - yet fairly sweet - malts. Almost candy-like with its underlying sweetness - and acidity. The bitterness is very subdued. but a pleasant one. 051007
