Chocolate, roasted malts and nutz. Minimalistic tan head. Average lacing. Some molasses swivels in here and there. Doesnt have that burnt massive bite. More of a smooth runner for a Imperial Stout. I’ve had some home brewed stout that would grow hair on yer chest, but this is not even worth the wooden leg.

Bottle sampled. Pours black with ruby edges and a decent size tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, and molasses. The flavor is roast, chocolate, caramel, molasses, and sweet. Weak for an Imperial stout.

this is a nice tasting stout. not to over powering or heavy with a pleasing bitter chocolate taste. if your looking for a stout to drink in the summer i would say this one is a good choice. out of all the heavy seas beers i would pick this one as my favorite. a must have for all beer fans

Light tan head, quick recession. Very dark brown body with deep amber hues. The aroma is of molasses, burned malts na dsweet chocolate with a touch of sourness and old hops. The flavor is awful, with more old hops, light to moderate bitterness, cloying sweetness and sweet chocolate. Very scattered and underattenuated. Mild fruit and caramel, far too much acidity. Finishes lightly tart and lightly roasty, sugary and sored malts lingering. Mouthfeel is overcarbonated and sticky. Alcohol is overstated throughout. An awful recipe.

Pours moderately thick with a minimally translucent black color and touches of ruby red highlights. Initially produces a tight and dense 3/4" tan head which holds on for a good while. Some spotty lacing as glass empties. Extremely muted aroma profile overall with some barely perceptible notes of dark roasted coffee, raisins, semi-sweet chocolate and caramel. Palate is quite thin for an Impy Stout. Somewhat watery and too fizzy. Lacks the expected creamy and oily-like fullness. Although the flavor profile was also a bit wimpy it was more satisfying than the aromas. Moderate notes of dark chocolate, french roast coffee, dark fruits, caramel and vanilla are noted. Slight metallic-like flavor was a bit distracting. Finishes with a sweet licorice like note and just a touch of hops. Overall profile seems very porter-like rather than an Imperial Stout. Kinda middle-of-the-road.

Single bottle from Total Wine, marked best before September 2007. Pours a deep brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is fairly weak for a beer that claims to be an imperial stout, with a sort of wet chocolate smell. Taste is thin with chocolate and a hint of hops. Alcohol is hidden well but this doesn’t seem like an imperial stout.

Very creamy - espresso bean, bitter dark chocolate, somewhat spicy and burnt. Some pine tree essence and light, bitter toffee. Heavy drink, obvioulsly, but a little thinner than what one expects out of this style.

lots of other imperials i’d chosse over this one. it has the imperial stout flavor it just seems rather bland to me. very easy to drink
