| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 9, 2007 Pours very black with a long lasting tan head. Aroma is light, chocolate and coffee mostly, with some caramel malt. Good blend of roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavors. Smooth and easy to drink, but ends with a burnt bitterness. jrob21 (1277), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 1, 2007 This is a wimpy imperial stout. You have the requisite bittersweet chocolate, malt, and sugar flavors but my views have changed on impy stouts. I’m a tough impy stout rater these days after some recent drinks and the need to separate the quality from the swag. This is no ten fidy or even a siberian night. This counts as swag. Who’s with me? jlruthven (137), Milledgeville, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2007 From the bottle; poured oily black, with half inch head that gradually dissipated. Smells of roast, chocolate, and coffee. Tastes of more chocolate, coffee is bitter; slight alcohol punch going down. Not really deserving of the "Imperial Stout" moniker, but a very drinkable high gravity stout. brian1985 (14), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Appearance: Pours motor oil black with a very thin tan/reddish head that dissipates to almost nothing and leaves slight lacing around the edge of my glass.
Smell: Chocolate malts are the predominant aroma, with some roasted malts thrown into the mix as well. A dash of alcohol can be had as well, more so as the stout approaches room temperature.
Taste: Roasted/toasted malts, mostly coffee and some burnt baking chocolate. Alcohol is present, but not very noticeable. Aftertaste is a wonderful combination of the coffee sweetness and a minimal chocolate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: A light medium body, but very smooth and very creamy.
Drinkability: This one is pretty drinkable, but at 8% ABV, be warned, it could easily creep up on you, however, the alcohol is not as noticeable as some other RIS. Overall, I was very pleased with this offering from Clipper City. gwpom (253), Akron, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 26, 2007 12 oz bottle. This was recommended at Consumers, so I tried a bottle. The high ABV gives it a sharp edge, but definitely has chocolate and coffee flavor to it. No head to speak of. As was stated, I’ve had better Imperials. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2007 Bottle shared by Mabel. Black body with a good sized dark tan head. Sweet, , lightly fruity aroma, light notes of caramel and cocoa. Dry bitterness, noticable hops, light dry cocoa nots. Bitter dark chocolate presence is moderate, light alcohol gains prominence in the finish. Average to medium palate. Servicable. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA
