Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 27, 2007 it has a definitive style of Saison flavor, tropical like fruits with rich malty textures. IT give off a great presence, Well done nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 27, 2007 The aroma has yeast, alcohol, malt, and fruit. The appearance is golden with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s OK but nothing special. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Aug 22, 2007 (Bottle (best before 9/07) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/1828-vintage-house-specialties/8302.htm target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Decent even if I didn’t really enjoy it...Pours clear light orange with maybe a slight hint of pink. Lots of Tiny Bubbles (cue the Dean Martin). A finger or so of whitish head that retreats to a thin layer. Aroma is mostly yeasty with maybe a hint of sour. Light mouthfeel, kind of soft but unremarkable. Light rings of lacing look pretty nice. Tastes very yeasty, kind of surprising given the clarity. Almost too yeasty. A bit gluey. Has a bit of a lemon-citrusy tang, in some ways tastes more like a witbier. Alcohol well-hidden. Where are the spices? Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 19, 2007 Clear, somewhat foul looking orange appearance. A pretty blatant urinal aroma. Less obvious hints of pear skins, pineapple juice, grasses. Tastes of bananas, paper, obscure spices. Weirdly fruity with a motionless, tired attitude. Bland, wedding party cocktails made with fraternity liquors, and sauvignon blanc. Palate retains this difficult sweetness with a bite of sourness and maybe salt. Dry, gin like finish. Not disgusting, but not quite right. Thanks Steve! jhliesen (403), West Melbourne, Florida, USA Aug 12, 2007 Bottle, best before October 07--pours a cloudy soft gold color with a small white head. The head decided not to stick around. I didn’t detect any real aroma, perhaps a touch of whie grape. Had that "Belgain" taste and palate, but it was hard to pin down any specifics. I caught some wheat, a bit of spice, could be collander like others suggested. The palate brought that white grape juice feel. All and all, just felt like a beer that was afraid to stand up and speak. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 11, 2007 Updated 5/20/2006. Had this a couple of times now. It’s not terrible, but just overly sweet. Beer pours pale yellow color with a nose that is wheaty. Flavor has some barnyard funk underneath the wheat and spice, but is just overly sweet. Drinkable, but not worth seeking out. WolfsBlood84 (103), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Aug 6, 2007 Bottle - Pours a hazy, particle-laden golden orange color. Aroma is phenolic and slightly citrus. Taste is light-bodied, slightly spicy, and finishes tartly sweet. Pretty damn good. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 5, 2007 A clear golden pour with almost no head. An aroma that is light belgian yeast and a bit spicy but not special. A flavor that is lightly corriander but not the hard push you would hope for. A slightly less than aggressive carbonation that you would expect. All round a decent beer. If I had made it I would be tickled, but I’m not a pro. Decent offering.
