a true sailors delight. when there is no rum around. yeast is the key word in this brew. But it’s tolerable. a little fruity and not as delicate as they say. I’ve had kidney stones that are more delicate. But I’m not complaining. about the beer that is. 8 percent baby ! ! !

Tallahassee, Fl. - Market Sqaure Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Dark golden. slightly murky pour with a slight white head - thin lacing. Alcoholy aroma with hints of cloves and bubble gum. Sticky flavor with some bubble gum, candied sugar and banana with a spicy back end. Kind of like a strong American Wheat. Alcohol apparant. Sticky mouthfeel, but slightly harsh. Overall, decent.

Light banana/grapefruit, musky aroma. Bad label, good cap, orange-tinged clear gold beer with a quickly dissipating quarter-inch white head. Tart, fruity, pretty sweet, spicy, slightly salty and buttery -- wit-like at times. Turns a grassy carbonated edge going into the finish, which has some off phenolic flavors. Medium body. Slightly warming. Market Square Liquors.

The Dan Journal #10. 12oz bottle. Hazy golden hue. Slight orange amber hint. White head. Grassy, grainy, slight barnyard nose. Rounded and sweet. Grainy fruity and zesty. Lively. Banana and citrus notes. Slight grapefruit. Finish is tingling and yeasty. Good hop presence.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Dark golden, cloudy. Spicy aroma. Pretty good - somewhat spicy, definitely tastes Belgian. Bit of a sour taste.

Total Wine. Mild aroma of Belgian yeast, hops and fruit. Flavor is pretty good for an American attempt at a saison. Not up to the level of a Du Pont, but tasty, enjoyable, and extremely drinkable. Notes of Belgian yeast, candy sugar, spicy hops, and a great alcohol hit buried inside. Really nice on a hot Florida day. Excellent.

(12 oz bottle) pours light orange. yeast is the dominant aroma and flavor. mild bitter. could taste some spice and orange on the tail end. well balanced flavor. the yeast isn’t pungent and doesn’t overwhlem the other flavors. doesn’t really hit that siason flavor though.
