Jvittorio4187 (255), Boardman, Ohio, USA Feb 25, 2007 This is a better than average saison ale. Full of citrus flavors. Sweet. Refreshing and crisp. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Feb 21, 2007 Pours a bubbly orange with a very thin white head. Not a very big nose on this one. A little citrus and spices, light orange. Taste is pretty decent. Cinnamon spice is the most dominant in this flavor in this one. Relatively smooth. Not extremely complex. Pretty refreshing. I definitely prefer the Belgian saisons much more, but this one wasnt too shabby. BeerMeDude (28), USA Feb 20, 2007 This is a pretty nice Belgian style brew. Cool dewey spring aroma with a sweet refreshing taste, friuty and a little spicy as the description states. Good choice for a warm afternoon. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Feb 14, 2007 Clear golden, ring of bubbles. Candi sugar and spice up front, very tripel-like. Faint floral and pale malt background. Flavor is veru tripel-like as well, dominated by candi sugar. Really have to dig to get anything else. Pretty muddled up in general. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 1, 2007 On tap @ Brew Kettle: Clear golden colored pour with a white head. Aroma, sticky and sweet, some fruits. Flavor, light fruits, caramel and pale malts. This was unlike any saison I’ve ever had. Not that I was expecting much, but this wasn’t very good. rpattinson (83), Amsterdam, Netherlands Feb 1, 2007 Very pale in colour with little head; flowers, candy, aniseed and vegetable aromas; sweet taste with cabbage, honey and turnip aromas; bitterish finish with vegetable and honey aromas.
A beer that is unlike a Saison in pretty well every respect. Tastes like the brewer used up the remains of his vegetable patch in it. A huge disappointment. In my scoring system 19 out of 100. If I were scoring to style, it would get -20. Saison is a broad church, but this isn’t even in the carpark. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA Jan 30, 2007 Draught @ Brew Kettle: Pours a very clear darker golden color, basically no head at all. First sip is a nutmeg kick to the face, can’t believe noone else said that. Basically that’s where it stays very sweet malts and no hops clashing with more nutmeg, it’s really to damn sweet. Some spiciness and other fruits but completely muted by the nutmeg I’m getting. Not bad but not right either. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jan 12, 2007 Clear amber with a small head. No lacing. Aroma is very light, with belgian yeast, sweet malts and peppery spices. Medium body and lively carbonation.
