I think I liked it, because it is lighter and more straight forward of a taste. It has the typical taste you would expect (sweet, some spice). Again over-all nice and non-offensive. Basically it is probably best tried as an intro to Belgium beers. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA

Kind of an average belgian brew. reminds me alot of some bew belgium stuff. Some spices over a basic belgian body. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2006 I believe kmweaver sent this to me a very long time ago as a freebie. I finally got around to it. Clear golden orange, moderate head, poor lacing. Aroma is spices, pepper, light caramel. Drinkable, some alcohol in the finish. Overall pretty boring for a saison though. Not bad, just not that interesting. bobaidan (359), Farmington, Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Pours crystal clear gold with a tiny white head. Aroma is fruity with citrus hints. Flavor is citrus with maybe some coriander. Tastes much like a witte, but with the addition of grassy hop flavors. 8% abv ? You would never know it by the taste as there is no noticeable alcohol presence. A very good drinking beer. Light and refreshing. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 25, 2006 pours a golden straw body with amber tins and a medium sized white head. little to no lacing. smells of yeast, alcohol and strongly of fruit. tastes of malts and citrus. lemon, grapes. sort of sweet. not bitter at all. grainy, doughy. malty. finishes with strong yeasty bouts. (is bout a word?) like chunks of yeast flavor but not biting or anything like that. again and interesting little combination from the clipper city folks. is it my favorite beer? no. comes close? no but definetely worth the few bucks at Chevy Chase Liquor. kimcgolf (828), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Poured a golden yellow, with decent carbonation and the signature Saison snow white head. Aroma was hoppy spice, and the taste was more of the same. This had all the characteristics of a Saison, but all just muted. Unlike others I’ve had where the nose and taste jump out at you, I had to work much harder to detect the Saison style here. Not a bad drinkimng beer, just not nearly as good as many other Saisons. Couldn’t tell... Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA
