wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 12, 2006 clear golden with a small white head that disappears fast. aroma light fruity and yeasty. flavor sweet and yeasty with some fruit and spice. medium body. fizzy carbonation. finish long and yeasty with a hint of nutmeg. not horrible, just kinda average. MrBunn (1520), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2006 Looks like an american pils... golden color, effervescent, light head. Aromas are weak-of honey and grass. Flavor picks up honey-like sweetness and runs with it. Not much else going on. Maybe a little banana/cloves if you’re feeling generous and searching for something. I find it a little hard to believe that there is 8% ABV here, but that may be the most redeeming quality of an otherwise mediocre offering. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 6, 2006 Clear gold, small white cap. Cross a belgian ale, saison, and a biere de garde and this what you’d get. Crisp and grainy with a light dose of funk. Not complex at all. Very drinkable, though. Light/medium, balanced body. A nice session brew to get your buzz on a little quicker. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 29, 2006 On tap at the Brew Kettle. Poured a clear brighter golden with a creamy cap of spotty beige head. Nose was spicy and rich, with lots of underlying malty sweetness. Alcohol emerged as this warmed, stealing too much of the show. Flavor found spicy alcohol-fueled lighter fruits and some caramel... weak finish with sliced pears and apples. Crisp on the palate with a bit too much alcohol presence. Felt like the bottom dropped out at about the middle of the drink, with some crisp lighter fruits coming back for the finish. Not too good for the style. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 28, 2006 12-oz. bottle from artusory. Pours a clean deep gold with an edgy white head, mostly dissipating. Aroma is heavy yeast (dough, earth), spices, grass and straw-hay, faint peach and apricot nose. Mildly acidic and bitter, mild sweet candied sugars, yeast abounds with peppery spices jumping around, malty finish. Light bodied, crisp and fizzy, spicy palate. I am generally excited to see American brewers attempt such traditional styles as saisons and other ales. Clipper City does a fair job with this one. Arayaga2 (932), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 25, 2006 Light orange color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet yeasty, and slightly grassy. Taste is same, plus spicy fruity fizzy. $2/12oz beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Jun 23, 2006 12 oz Bottle-Pours a clear golden color w/no head. Sweet, fruity, grassy, floral aroma. Very smooth-light & carbonated but flavorful. Sweet hoppy flavor, somewhat spicey-but not peppery-more like a cinnimon & citrus flavor. Long spicy finish w/some kick to it. Refreshing & enjoyable. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Jun 18, 2006 On tap at Brew’s Cafe Granville Ohio - Poured golden with a fluffy white head that stayed pretty well and left nice lacing on the tulip that it was served in. Aroma was nice and yeasty with a little bannana, and a touch of citrus. Flavor is yeasty as well nice bready notes throughout with a touch of orange peel and a subtle bannana flavor as well. Palate is light and carbonated pretty well but a very smooth drinker that I enjoyed with my Father’s day dinner.
