awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA Apr 26, 2006 From Bottle. Pours a transparent golden straw color with a nice even white, lasting head. Aroma of candied pineapple, banana, and creamy peach. Some raw bread dough aromas with cardamin seed also compliment the fruity arrangement. Crisp, tingling mouthfeel dancing with plenty of carbonation. At first, some dry sbutle lemon flacors come out, but are followed by a white grape rind entourage. Final smack of manchego cheese. Not overly complex, but nice and balanced with no unpleasant surprises. Thanks, Jay! Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2006 Updated: Apr 26, 2006Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of sweetness, citrus, fruit. Flavor is smooth and enjoyable, although it is weak i loved this brew. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Apr 23, 2006 Bottle. Very small white fizzy head that mostly diminished, sparse lacing, carbonated, transparent, and a yellow hue. Nose was some malt notes, light hoppiness, sweet, oranges, bananas, note of pepper, spicy, and clove. Flavor was sweet, somewhat sour, lightly malty, lightly hoppy, spicy, bananas, and clove. Tingly mouthfeel. Medium body. This is a complex beer with a lot going on. Hangover (764), Atlanta, USA Apr 20, 2006 Clear golden pour with a filmy but lasting white head. Nice active carbonation. Lots of aroma... fruit, wheat, yeast, coriander and a bit of peppery spiciness. Mouthfeel is not as lively as the appearance. Sweet, strong taste, with a lot more coriander and banana. Spicy, yeasty finish, with no aftertaste of alcohol, just spice and a bit of banana. I really like it... just wish it was a bit lower abv so I could drink them all afternoon on a lazy summer day. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA Apr 17, 2006 A wonderful saison, thick and creamy head, immense body with lots of malty spicy flavor. Appearance was a translucent sunset orange, although it may have been a little brighter than that, as I was judging the color using candlelight...hmm. Flavor: Quite spicy in fact, a great drink to pair with flavorful foods, such as fennel sausage, I found it great. luvcasks (178), USA Apr 16, 2006 Cask Conditioned version at Pizza Paradiso
Aroma: A whole bunch of stuff Fuity, Malty, floral and yeasty with a little funk
Appearance: Cloudy, Straw yellow with a white thin head
Taste: Delicious with blend of malty background, honey-dew, some spicy flavors peeking thru
Palate: Light bodied the tastes starts off bready and slightly hoppy but finishes slightly sweet
Overall: A great expression of a Saison, unlike the classic Saison Dupont, this does not finish super dry... definitely could use some help slightly drying up the finish otherwise very delicious radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Apr 16, 2006 Golden. Aroma of spice and fruit. Flavor is less intense, and I’m glad for it. Sweet and spice. I was a little afraid before I took a sip, and I am suprised that it’s better than I thought it would be. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Apr 13, 2006 Pours a golden color with a thin, fizzy, white head. Aroma is of spices, fruit, and sweet malts. Flavor is the same, a little too much spice for my liking. An ok brew but not someting I would buy again
