This beer is brewed in the Belgian Saison style (country farm house ale). A potent yet delicate ale, brewed with a unique Belgian yeast which develops a spicy, fruity flavor. Enormously complex. Available from May to around August.

Smells and tastes of spicy Belgian yeast. Nice appearance, with a light mouth feel and moderate carbonation.

12 ounce pint - $6.25 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Near clear, deep yellow body with a smallish, white head. Smell: The nose is spicy (clove and coriander), grainy wheat and pils, and even faintly boozy. Not the most auspicious start to a saison. Taste: Amalgam of pils, wheat, and malted barley with a grainy character and light sweetness. Particularly phenolic from the on-set. Splash of mountain spring water. Touches of dried lemon peel and spice. Light bitterness. Finishes dry, spicy, and lightly bitter. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: At best a marginally passable, though not standout saison. It has a higher ABV% going for it, if that’s your thing, but, if that is your thing, why not opt for a Fantome, as they do have some more boozy saison offerings.

Wierd beer. I like saisons but this one had a odd vegetal nose with alot of strange sugar notes. Some light spice and coriander. Flavor was way way to sweet for a saison. Some light spiciness but the sugary caramel malt dominates. To much residual sugar yet again. Alcohol is well hidden and its not terrible but its not good either.

bottle BB aug 2009. the clearest saison i have ever seen?... slightly hazed golden with a small white head. really sweet smelling... pale brown sugar, candi, orange, spiciness and bready yeast. the flavor follows... fairly sweet, turbinado sugar, orange, coriander, yeast and some spiciness on the attempt at a dry finish. medium to full bodied and sticky with residuals. it has a soft texture yet it is prickly with spice. 5/2.5/5/3/12/2.75

Light haze to an otherwise yellow gold color. Good initial head that settles to a single layer. Light lace Light sour aroma. Almost wheaty in the nose. Relatively dry, warm alcohol. Similar to the smell in that there is a sour finish. Not as flavorful as most saisons. In fact, it’s pretty run-of-the-mill.

Thanks 17thfloor! Pours a nice clean golden color with a small white frothy head. Aroma is spicy and sweet with a nice earthiness. Fresh fruity character of melon, apple, clove. Flavor starts with a nice honeysuckle and sweet apple note. Picks up a spicy peppery bite and finishes smooth and clean, not a lot of bitterness, dry and malty. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Very flavorful and rich, but easy drinking.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear glowing lighter golden with a small fizzy white froth. Balanced aroma of vanilla, flowers, lightly sweet, hint of grass, touch spicy, hint of honey, yeasty, doughy, very balanced. Flavor follows, quite balanced and surprisingly tasty, slightly full for a saison, chalky, vanilla, doughy, yeasty, lightly spicy , off-dry sweetness finishing quite dry with just a touch of lingering candi sugar. Medium bodied with a almost hard candy feel, glassy, with lots of full airy carbonation. Love the hops right in the fnish, lovely beer.
