The aroma was sweet malt, fruit, some hops. Watery texture. The flavor was sweet with some spice notes. Drinkable but this red sky at night was not a drinkers delight. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Bought a sixer of this about 6 weeks ago, and it’s already started to go downhill. Cloudy golden brew with a medium body, the yeast and funk and moderate spice come across initially but there’s not enough depth to this. A bit of candy, some mild fruits and grassy goodness, but it’s ephemeral and gets lost somewhat quickly. Enjoyable but middling. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2006 Pours pale with a small, white head that fades very quickly. The aroma is Dupont yeast all the way, pepper, lemon, peach, banana, cloves and some alcohol. The flavor is moderately sweet, pepper, pears, apple, lemon and clove, becoming slightly tart at the end. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Tasty, but in need of a higher level of attenuation to be special. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Bottle from SpringsLicker. Pours a lightly opaque light amber color with a very dense white head that rises about 1.5 inches above the liquid level upon pouring. Foamy lacing left behind. Aroma is funky, like ketchup/katsup.. Light bodied, full of bubbly carbonation. Very delicate flavors, light in mouthfeel. Enough alcohol and residual sugar to believe that Candi sugar was used. No alcohol harshness. Full of carbonation, light, bubbly and fairly spicey. Pretty well done, a bit above ABV if you think the workers are going to get back to the fields any time soon. Enjoyable, if not exactly to style. Grassy, grainy, slight barnyard nose. Rounded and sweet. Grainy fruity and zesty. Lively. Banana and citrus notes. Slight grapefruit. Finish is tingling and yeasty. Good hop presence. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
