| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 11, 2008 Pours pale gold with a thin white head. Smells of residual sugar and has some saison aualities, but they are all garbled. Tastes fruity and overly sweet for the style. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2005 The Lure: No head whatsoever atop the citrusy hop dough. Malt husks appear, but aren’t sure of what surrounds them.
The Festivities: The quiet mouthfeel points much more towards bière de garde to me in its maltiness and carbonation level. Pineapple sweetness blends well with the coriander and the miscellaneous hops. Diplomatic alcohol warming accompanies the quizzical serenity.
Transcendence: After the storm, a strange, soothing calm looms over the scattered debris. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 22, 2006 Draft at the James Joyce pub, labeled James Joyce Ale something-or-other. Clear orange color, light appearance. Tastes a little like cheap lager, like a Miller Lite almost. Crisp, fizzy, sweet malts, citrus and cherries, pale and simple, though. A bit sour in the finish. Like an American pale ale. yngwie (4970), Kristiansand, Norway
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Bottle, shared by papsoe. Orange-yellow pour, with a white head. There’s sediments in the bottle. Pale malt, citrus and a sweetish note in the aroma. The flavor is sour and sweet, quite malty, with some spice notes and hints of orange. Medium to thin body, and a fruity finish with a little acidic touch. Drinkable and refreshing, but the beer didn’t convince me it was worthy. (071006) madsberg (4966), Søborg, Denmark
