Sweet fruitiness coupled with that slight saison tartness and some spice. Very light for 8%. Very nice. jcr (1162), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Bottle. Smells sweet. Tastes sweet with a lemon tartness at the end. Hazy medium yellow body below a small, fizzy, white head that quickly departs. The aroma contains straw, melon, coriander and pineapple juice. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. The finish is tart. Medium body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. This beer lacks the depth and mustiness of the better saisons. porterhouse (1156), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2007 (Bottle (best before 9/07) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/boothbay/ target=blank>1828 Vintage House) Decent even if I didn’t really enjoy it...Pours clear light orange with maybe a slight hint of pink. Lots of Tiny Bubbles (cue the Dean Martin). A finger or so of whitish head that retreats to a thin layer. Aroma is mostly yeasty with maybe a hint of sour. Light mouthfeel, kind of soft but unremarkable. Light rings of lacing look pretty nice. Tastes very yeasty, kind of surprising given the clarity. Almost too yeasty. A bit gluey. Has a bit of a lemon-citrusy tang, in some ways tastes more like a witbier. Alcohol well-hidden. Where are the spices? redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Unibroue-esque in aroma but lack of a head detracts from a saison quality in this. Lots of yeast in aroma, fair-grounds. Taste is kind of bland, mild Belgium spices, no definition or body. Decent for a part of a mix 12. Goodgrief (1152), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Updated 5/20/2006. Had this a couple of times now. It’s not terrible, but just overly sweet. Beer pours pale yellow color with a nose that is wheaty. Flavor has some barnyard funk underneath the wheat and spice, but is just overly sweet. Drinkable, but not worth seeking out. mephisto (1144), Taiwan
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 1, 2005 bottled, hazy orage w/ off white head. aroma of fruit, the taste is sweet. there must be a mistake at the abv column, this thing can’t be 9%+, not if it’s saison anyway. even 8%+ is quite unbelievable. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a hazy gold with lots of rising bubbles and a large, rocky, ivory head. On the nose is a fruity, spicy blend of pears, light citrus, spices of paradise? and faint notes of bubble gum and alcohol. Medium-bodied, oily and soft with a slightly sour finish. Sweet pear-like malty front with a lot of yeasty input: faint banana backing up a peppery, sour wheat-like note. Finishes quite cleanly and not overly dry with light alcohol on the exhale. This is a tasty beer, but it seems to be missing that special "something" that would take it to the next level. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
