| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottle from a trade with StFun. Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of bread dough and spices. Doughy flavor with mild spices and some fruitiness. Kind of a bland saison to me. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Josh. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 22, 2005 A spicy, fruity saison? Not quite what the bottle led me to think, but a nice drink nonetheless. Didn’t see any yeast, but the pour was a wee bit cloudy orange. Too much carbonation up front, but then it mellowed, leaving a peppery sweetness. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2005 Updated: Mar 5, 2005Arrghhhh for my 420th rating! Argghhh... Arggh, arrghhh... Anyway, this isn’t a hemp ale, but it involved redness. Silly, not of the eyes, but in the sky! Oohhh, trippy! This beer ain’t trippy. It’s sugary, filled with a banana-like fruit, honey, and heavy with sweet things; spicy, but not sure how or exactly why it’s spiced in such a way; drinkable, prickly, and otherwise mediocre, but all in all not quaffable at all. This is a really strong brew, but I prefer their other strong brew, their IIPA. freekyp (901), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Updated: Jun 13, 2008The aroma is musty and raisiny with a slight vinegar note. Light tight carbonation makes for a soft, but slightly prickly mouthfeel from this golden yellow brew. The usual fluffy white head of a Saison is not present. Medium-light and floral this beer ends with a lingering sweetness. Its hides its ample 8% ABV very well. bubbleflubber (897), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Pours light orange-copper into the glass, with a decently medium head and mild lace. The nose is uniquely sweet n’ sour wheat grains and spices. The flavors are predominated by spices (sweet kitchen) and malts, with a slightly clove finish. The mouthfeel is both refreshing and syrupy, but in a "thin" way. Overall, a nicely complex brew that probably deserves a little better than its current rating (3.27). | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2005 12.14.05. 12 oz. bottle. Poured into Ommegang chalice. Nice light cloudy gold color. Sweet spice aroma. Very earthy citrus/banana/clove flavors. The Heavy Seas brews seem to be pretty good all-round.
