| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 14, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a brilliant, deep yellow with gold highlights and a thick, though short-lived, white head that consists of very fine/small bubbles. The aroma is fruity and spicy with some perfume and grassiness, pilsner malt, and a little banana, too. The flavor is very nice and much more complex than the aroma - a rich, light malt base with touches of soft fruit, cinnamon sugar, flowers, hibiscus, cloves, and honey. At mid-palate, a soft, flowery bitterness emerges, strengthened by the flavor of ethanol. There is also a nice bit biscuity malt and spices towards the back. The finish is somewhat dry with a doughy, yeasty maltiness, ginger, spices, hints of anise, and alcohol. The mouthfeel is quite full in body and slippery, but suitably lightened by vigorous carbonation so as to feel a little lighter and more refreshing. Overall, a very tasty beer - but not quite dry enough or grassy/hoppy enough for a saison of this strength; more like tripel. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2006 A wonderful saison, thick and creamy head, immense body with lots of malty spicy flavor. Appearance was a translucent sunset orange, although it may have been a little brighter than that, as I was judging the color using candlelight...hmm. Flavor: Quite spicy in fact, a great drink to pair with flavorful foods, such as fennel sausage, I found it great.
Flavor is full, sharp lemons, yeast, and a bit malty. Tastes lovely, Clipper City makes awesome beers, this is another fine brew from Baltimore. BigBeer45 (704), Troy, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Bottle,
has a clear medium gold pour with a touch of orange and some darker gold in the brew (I saw some floaties in the brew), gives a white head and has medium effervescence, leaves some lacing on the glass,
aromas of faint peach & orange, light malt, spicy citrus aroma appears to be the most dominant fragrance in this brew, there is fruit & sugar sweetness on the nose, maybe a hint of floral and funkiness in this beer,
flavors of sour-citrus fruit, orange, medium banana flavor which reminds me of a German Hefeweizen, there are lemon-orange citrus, low hop bitterness, not much tartness in this drink, and this has some pepper at the finish,
mouth feel is around medium with a nice creaminess, I thought the carbonation was low for a Saison Beer,
no alcohol noticed on the nose or the palate, an ok drink.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2005 Unlike typical offerings of the style, this one came in a six pack of 12 oz. bottles. Hazy pale yellow color with a ton of streamers and a large egg shell head made this look the part of a classic Saison. The aroma was more hoppy than anticipated, with a spicy, citric smell, more typical of an IPA, than a Belgian style. There was also a background of perfumey, alcoholic, earthy smells. The taste was light, spicy, and citric, and dry, but not quite as dry as other Saisons. Very delicious and quenching, and a good approachable take on the style. demitriustown (702), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2009 12 oz bottle: Aroma is nicely floral, yeast, nice spicey hops, fresh apples, orange, and almost a graham cracker scent to it. Appearance is a slightly cloudy orangish/golden color with a medium sized white head that diminishes into a soapy white film. Taste is nicely light fruity, yeast, orange, sugary, and a light hop bittereness on the back end. Palate has a lightly carbonated mouth feel with a lingering yeast and floral notes in the aftertaste. Overall, nice drinker. I personally really like this saison. Cheers!
