Oct 2, 2005 Bottle. A nice golden pour with a finger width of white foam head. Very little aroma off this beer. Not a bad beer but not a great saison. It tastes a little like citrus with a slight tang at the finish.

Aug 1, 2008 Not bad, smooth and pretty well balanced. Tasted slightly fruity. Didn’t have man notes on this one so it must have just been so so.

Oct 7, 2008 This one doesn’t get a lot of love but I think it’s a great, easy drinking and refreshing brew. I’m actually reviewing an 18 month old bottle. Cloudy gold with a nice white head. Apple and pear spiced aroma with cinnamon, clove, honey, ginger and wheat notes. Nicely acidic apple taste with raw grains and funk. Surprising complexity with lots of light fruit and bread tastes. Really delicious, and ages like a dream.

Nov 25, 2006 pours a golden straw body with amber tins and a medium sized white head. little to no lacing. smells of yeast, alcohol and strongly of fruit. tastes of malts and citrus. lemon, grapes. sort of sweet. not bitter at all. grainy, doughy. malty. finishes with strong yeasty bouts. (is bout a word?) like chunks of yeast flavor but not biting or anything like that. again and interesting little combination from the clipper city folks. is it my favorite beer? no. comes close? no but definetely worth the few bucks at Chevy Chase Liquor.

Aug 17, 2008 Well, I’m not so sure of the overall on this, as I think it’s fantastic! I guess the only thing that could be better is the carbonation, which is a bit overdone. Otherwise, it pours a hazy yellow, with fluffy white head. The aroma is of yeast and bread. And the flavor is right up there with some of the better wheat beers I have had. Lots of clove, and banana on the finish. Very tasty and drinkable. Cheers!

Aug 7, 2009 330 ML bottle in the USA. Unusual beer reminds me of an Orval and almost as good. Fantastic stuff and very complex. Will have again.

Aug 8, 2008 bottle. Pours a hazy golden-yellow color, smallish offwhite head, noticeable amount of fine particles of sediment. Aromas of smooth fruity sweetness and spicy notes. Flavors feature a quick spicy kick on the front end, some cloves and nutmeg. sharp Yeasty twang. Some grainy sweetness in there as well. Pretty heavy on the sharpness.
Palate is full flavored, but a fair bit of sharp tangy finish. Overall... not a bad beer, but certainly not an especially good representation of the style. Too sharp, too heavy.

May 11, 2006 Poured from a 12oz bottle a clear yellow with a small white head that quickly disappeared. Aroma had some banana in it along with lots of spices (clove and ginger) and hops with a malt undertone. Flavor pretty much followed suit with a touch of bananas and lots of hops and spicies. The 8% is not noticable.
