Bottled. "Best by" notch at April 2005. Nice bright gold color under a thin fizzy head. Pleasant beery, slighty tart smell, perhaps a tad of skunk from its age. Bottle-conditioned, and pouring kicked up a bit of dead yeast. Still, it’s spritzy, with lemon and cherry, and just a touch of cinnamon and clove. A tad alcoholic with post-bottling fermentation. Nice light Pils malts, a very pretty pour. Despite its age, it shows and tastes very nicely.

Clear golden pour with a filmy but lasting white head. Nice active carbonation. Lots of aroma... fruit, wheat, yeast, coriander and a bit of peppery spiciness. Mouthfeel is not as lively as the appearance. Sweet, strong taste, with a lot more coriander and banana. Spicy, yeasty finish, with no aftertaste of alcohol, just spice and a bit of banana. I really like it... just wish it was a bit lower abv so I could drink them all afternoon on a lazy summer day.

12.14.05. 12 oz. bottle. Poured into Ommegang chalice. Nice light cloudy gold color. Sweet spice aroma. Very earthy citrus/banana/clove flavors. The Heavy Seas brews seem to be pretty good all-round.

My first though upon seeing the bottle was definite interest as I have liked most of the saisons I have tried. Only when I got home did I notice that this was a Clipper City product. This had me rather crestfallen as I have not been particularly impressed with this company. Never the less I opened the bottle. Sampled from your typical 12 oz bottle the beer poured a medium golden color with a large tan head. A sweet malt aroma with a hint of hops graced the nose. So far so good. The flavor was very sweet and fruity with a tangy fruit aftertaste. Quite pleasant and redeems the brewer somewhat in my eyes.

This beer poured a pale gold color with a significant and lasting head. Appearnce was very nice. The aroma was a bit yeasty, but also with hints of apricot and peaches. The taste was a fruit medley, with nothing being overpowering or prevalent. Finishes off rather smooth.

This is a light bodied beer, has a sweet fruity taste with a fizz. The high alcohol% is well hidden. This is rather enjoyable for such a sweet light bodied tasting beer, although a little to much carbonation fizz. The sweetness lingers on the tastebuds. This would be enjoyable on a hot summer day, it’s light and refreshing.

Bottle: Aroma is sweet and fruity with apple and banana. Also has a touch of yeatiness and some spice. Pours a orangish-gold with a touch of haze and an insignificant white head that is barely a ring. Fruit is much lighter in the flavor than aroma would lead you to believe. Instead it is much more spicey. Flavor is light banana and lighter apple up front with a big spicey finish, almost like a Christmas beer. Some acidity in the finish. Slight hints of yeast are barely noticeable. Mouthfeel is slightly on the fizzy side. As it warms the sweetness increases and balances much better with all the spice.
