Smallish head. White. Bright yellow to amber. Smell is not especially appealing on first hint: lemon with a heavy alcoloish scent. Hints or pepper or cloves and quite malty. Great summer beer for its light body. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2006 Pours pale with a small, white head that fades very quickly. The aroma is Dupont yeast all the way, pepper, lemon, peach, banana, cloves and some alcohol. The flavor is moderately sweet, pepper, pears, apple, lemon and clove, becoming slightly tart at the end. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Tasty, but in need of a higher level of attenuation to be special. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Golden. Aroma of spice and fruit. Flavor is less intense, and I’m glad for it. Sweet and spice. I was a little afraid before I took a sip, and I am suprised that it’s better than I thought it would be. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA

Nose of cloves, nutmeg, maybe a hint of corriander, some light yeastiness, and some banana esters; lightly hazy yellow with a medium pale yellow head; flavor has spiciness, bananas, light sweetness, and a tart hint! | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 11, 2006 Poured from a 12oz bottle a clear yellow with a small white head that quickly disappeared. Aroma had some banana in it along with lots of spices (clove and ginger) and hops with a malt undertone. Flavor pretty much followed suit with a touch of bananas and lots of hops and spicies. The 8% is not noticable. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Tart lemon spice aroma. Medium body and subdued carbonation. The taste is lemon, sweet bread, and a dash of fruit. Dry spicy finish. Seems to be sort of an imperial saison?? | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Poured from a 12-oz bottle into a pint glass a nice clear golden color with a thin white head. A faint aroma of fresh grains. Taste was much stronger than the smell, with spicy grassy hops coming through along with candy suger leading to a nice dry finish. Beer just got better as it warmed as the flavors became more pronounced.
