Banana, cloves, and farm aromas and flavors with a bit of a pepper, as would be expected from a saison. This isn’t as flavorful or complex as a saison should be, but as an easy drinking summer beer, it works quite well. Eckato (90), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2007 Poured out of a bottle with a nice head... Nice golden yellow amber coloring...the carbonation is decent. The aroma is a nice sweet and sour... imagine this...the taste is sour and sweet also...I like the mouth feel, it clings a bit..and the flavor that lingers is nice. Good beer this.... smith4498 (921), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottle from a trade with StFun. Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of bread dough and spices. Doughy flavor with mild spices and some fruitiness. Kind of a bland saison to me. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Josh. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Wierd beer. I like saisons but this one had a odd vegetal nose with alot of strange sugar notes. Some light spice and coriander. Flavor was way way to sweet for a saison. Some light spiciness but the sugary caramel malt dominates. To much residual sugar yet again. Alcohol is well hidden and its not terrible but its not good either. durhambeer (1225), Durham, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Golden yellow with medium white head. More transparent than expected. Very fruity and spicy nose: sour grapes, green apple, coriander, possibly cinnamon and clove. Nothing subtle about this beer. Similar palate, but very sweet. This really tasted like a tripel to me, and not a very subtle one, though the alcohol was well hidden. Might have ranked it higher if I was expecting a tripel, but as it was, I felt disappointed that this wasn’t very saison-like. seanroto (8), Maryland, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2009 clear light golden color, nice body, lively belgium that goes down smooth. enjoyable JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2004 Golden color with a tall off white head. MIld and light aromas. HInts of fresh yeast, pale malt, faint allspice and touch of citrus. Nose is less clean as it warms. Light sweet malt start taken back by dry candi flavors and touch of spice. Dry uneventful finish. An interesting ale, but a bit simple. A bit more malt profile would do wonders. Thankd Jeffc666. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2006 Pours nice golden color with red hue. Not much head and it quickly leaves. Very little carbonation. Smell is spicy, some sweetness, but overall dry. Very transparent, no bottle conditioning with this saison. Palate is very thin compared to most saisons, pleasant though. Taste has some spice - coriander? cinnamon? Not much of the taste that comes with most Belgiums (or most US interprentations) - not very earthy in the malts or yeast. It is enjoyable for what it is, but not very true to the style. This is definitely recommend, just go into it with an open mind.
