| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2004 Golden color with a tall off white head. MIld and light aromas. HInts of fresh yeast, pale malt, faint allspice and touch of citrus. Nose is less clean as it warms. Light sweet malt start taken back by dry candi flavors and touch of spice. Dry uneventful finish. An interesting ale, but a bit simple. A bit more malt profile would do wonders. Thankd Jeffc666. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2006 Pours nice golden color with red hue. Not much head and it quickly leaves. Very little carbonation. Smell is spicy, some sweetness, but overall dry. Very transparent, no bottle conditioning with this saison. Palate is very thin compared to most saisons, pleasant though. Taste has some spice - coriander? cinnamon? Not much of the taste that comes with most Belgiums (or most US interprentations) - not very earthy in the malts or yeast. It is enjoyable for what it is, but not very true to the style. This is definitely recommend, just go into it with an open mind. freekyp (902), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Updated: Jun 13, 2008The aroma is musty and raisiny with a slight vinegar note. Light tight carbonation makes for a soft, but slightly prickly mouthfeel from this golden yellow brew. The usual fluffy white head of a Saison is not present. Medium-light and floral this beer ends with a lingering sweetness. Its hides its ample 8% ABV very well. Yankovitch333 (612), Chesapeake City, Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Pours a pale gold with a thin white head. Light fruits on the nose. Light bodied mouth. Banana, bubblegum, grapefruit, lemon, apple, and orange on the tounge. A good beer. I have only had it on draft. I drink it for free so I am NOT complaining. chriso (4850), London, Greater London, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2005 This is an odd one. The name’s a bit of a mouthful and, to be honest, so is the beer. Lets get one thing straight from the start. Its not like any Belgian saison I’ve ever tried. For one thing, its rather sweet. For another, its very strong. By no stretch of the imagination is this a "summer refresher" as claimed. The colour is coppery orange. It reminded me of Lucozade. Despite indications on the bottle to the contrary there was no yeast sediment whatsoever. There’s something spicy in the aroma, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Plus a slight earthiness. So far so good. But, in the mouth its a bit of a mess. Its brewed with candi sugar and it shows. All I really get is a warming alcohol burn and a sticky sweetness, producing a curiously empty feeling (apart from the alcohol afterburn). There’s little body and not much acidity to parovide any balance. To be fair, it was a couple of months past its best before date, so I’m making some allowances. Thanks to Mike (The_Beer_God) for the gift.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2006 poured a budweiser kind of pale but thank goodness, it didn’t taste like it. i’m not usually a fan of saisons but this wasn’t bad. spicy , nutmeg nose. poured a nice big frothy head. does have kind of a funk aftertaste but i have had it for awhile so i won’t take off points for that. and it does get extra points for the name. gotta love a nice reference to "the fixx" who were great in concert, btw jimhilt (1688), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 27, 2008 Pours a five-finger white head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Clear pale amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Barnyard funky nose. Flavor is sour apple and lemon, lingering sour finish. Mellows as it warms. The higher ABV is not noticeable. $1.75 for a 12 oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. BeerandBlues2 (3230), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 28, 2006 12-oz. bottle from artusory. Pours a clean deep gold with an edgy white head, mostly dissipating. Aroma is heavy yeast (dough, earth), spices, grass and straw-hay, faint peach and apricot nose. Mildly acidic and bitter, mild sweet candied sugars, yeast abounds with peppery spices jumping around, malty finish. Light bodied, crisp and fizzy, spicy palate. I am generally excited to see American brewers attempt such traditional styles as saisons and other ales. Clipper City does a fair job with this one.
