First sip is a nutmeg kick to the face, can’t believe noone else said that. Basically that’s where it stays very sweet malts and no hops clashing with more nutmeg, it’s really to damn sweet. Some spiciness and other fruits but completely muted by the nutmeg I’m getting. Not bad but not right either. blankboy (3261), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a clear yellow-gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma of wheat, spices and lemon, a little sweet and yeasty -- I’m having a hard time describing this. Flavour’s a little watery, tastes citrusy and yeasty along with wheat, malt and a hint of hops. Average bodied. Not my favourite style and this is a mediocre version of it. doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Stumbled on this at Twain’s. Appearance was just like the Hennepin I just had on tap. Nice head with a nice yellow color. Aroma was a bit dissapointing, though. Not much of the typical saison aroma one would expect; very little spice, hay, grass. Tasted more like a saison than the aroma would’ve indicated. Kind of syrupy, though. All in all an OK saison, but not one I would rush out and get. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 5, 2008 this was a decent brew. I enjoyed the flavor but not the aftertaste so much. I had to order it being a child of the 80’s and a fan of The Fixx. Good beer but I won’t search for it. thornecb (1817), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2009 Pours clear gold into a tulip. Bright white head quickly recedes leaving no lacing to hug rim. Sour yeast and funk aromas. Dry and sharp with sour/sweet clove and yeast. Lasting honeyed pepper finish. ChainGangGuy (2619), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2009 12 ounce pint - $6.25 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Near clear, deep yellow body with a smallish, white head.
Smell: The nose is spicy (clove and coriander), grainy wheat and pils, and even faintly boozy. Not the most auspicious start to a saison.
Taste: Amalgam of pils, wheat, and malted barley with a grainy character and light sweetness. Particularly phenolic from the on-set. Splash of mountain spring water. Touches of dried lemon peel and spice. Light bitterness. Finishes dry, spicy, and lightly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: At best a marginally passable, though not standout saison. It has a higher ABV% going for it, if that’s your thing, but, if that is your thing, why not opt for a Fantome, as they do have some more boozy saison offerings. tcruicks (282), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Translucent yellow with a small white head. Smells like spicy pears, bananas and sour. Flavor is similar but more spicy, less pear/apple and more general fruityness include citrus. Some floral hops. Fairly smooth palate but tastes watery by the end. BeerMeDude (28), USA
