Flavor is tart and winey. Not sure how typical of the style is, but it is tasty and refreshing. SledgeJr (2966), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Bottle from SpringsLicker. Pours a lightly opaque light amber color with a very dense white head that rises about 1.5 inches above the liquid level upon pouring. Foamy lacing left behind. Aroma is funky, like ketchup/katsup.. Light bodied, full of bubbly carbonation. Very delicate flavors, light in mouthfeel. Enough alcohol and residual sugar to believe that Candi sugar was used. No alcohol harshness. Full of carbonation, light, bubbly and fairly spicey. Pretty well done, a bit above ABV if you think the workers are going to get back to the fields any time soon. Enjoyable, if not exactly to style. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 20, 2005 12 oz bottle from Humolone Red. Straw/gold color, clear, medium head with not much lacing. There is a large fruit aroma with apparent alcohol and a good yeasty smell. The flavor is sweet, floral, mild spicing (maybe just properties of the yeast?). It doesn’t taste like 9%. Good beer. Good aroma and lasting head, light colour. A fine saison.I hadn’t realized this was out for about 3 years, and picked it up this year. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
