mesperon (38), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pours out light and clear amber, thin with little head. Aroma is mostly sweet candy sugar, with a little sour apple and crisp alcohol. THou mouthfeel is suprisingly full, considering the appearance. The flavor doesn’t have any more than the aroma: sweet candy sugar with sour apple, alcohol is barely evident. The wheaty malt base is there, but the hops are totally absent. It was enjoyable, although to sweet and not a repeat.
esjaygee (918), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2008 Floaty McBoaty yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of toasted malts, fruit, mild Belgian sugar and some mild pale malts. Taste of toasted malt, fruit, spice and white grapes. Dry, somewhat fruity aftertaste that’s a bit spicy too. Good but not great. Rciesla (1136), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 31, 2008 Bottle. More like a hefe. Hazy orange body spices yes, but lots of fruity esters banana, citrus orange, pear. Decent beer but far from a saison. cbkschubert (1648), Rattlesnake Country, Arizona, USA Oct 30, 2008 12 oz. bottle - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Very little lacing. Aroma is bready malt, yeast, and esters. Flavor is sweet malt, spice, and esters. Medium body. A pretty nice Saison. leeburg (105), My mom’s basement, Michigan, USA Oct 29, 2008 Updated: Oct 30, 200812 oz, very slightly murky yellow-orange, and needs a little more violent pour to release a marshmallowy slowly dissipating head. Caught some apple peel, sugar, tart cherries. Sweet/tart with spice, giving way to a nicely gradual bitter iron finish. TheOrange (361), Kent, Ohio, USA Oct 26, 2008 Cloudy pale yellow pour with a small white ring of suds for a head. Despite being cloudy, you can still see the debris from the lack of filtering. The aroma is flowery, and very belgian. The flavor is true to the aroma, nice and flowery. The finish is quick and crisp. The body is lighter then the aroma leads you to expect. A pretty good beer.
