The little napping pirate with the empty bottle was made for a cool label. In the end, it turns out that I like the label better than the beer.
Pours a clear pale straw colored yellow.
The scent was extremely faint. I kept putting my nose closer and closer to it in an attempt to pick anything up, I ended up accidently snorting a bit of it up into my nose before I could smell anything. It burned a little. Smelled of boogers (that was my fault) and maybe some caramel and hops... Mostly boogers and alcohol, though.
the taste wasn’t bad at all, citrus hops and malts.
the mouth feel was a bit oily, heavy with caramel and left my mouth a little dry.
It was drinkable. i wouldn’t seek this one out again, but it wasn’t bad.

Oct 7, 2008 This one doesn’t get a lot of love but I think it’s a great, easy drinking and refreshing brew. I’m actually reviewing an 18 month old bottle. Cloudy gold with a nice white head. Apple and pear spiced aroma with cinnamon, clove, honey, ginger and wheat notes. Nicely acidic apple taste with raw grains and funk. Surprising complexity with lots of light fruit and bread tastes. Really delicious, and ages like a dream.

Oct 2, 2008 Pours golden brown with a decent off white head. Aroma is a fruity malty smell. Taste is also slightly fruity and wine like. Good stuff.

Sep 29, 2008 12oz bottle. gold with smallish white head. aroma of yeast, cherry and banana. sweet candy and spice taste. medium body. taste like cough medicine. way too sweet for me.

Sep 23, 2008 A little sweet for a saison, still a nice beer. Poured a cloudy yellow hue with a thin white head. Aroma was very sweet with very mild barnyard or earthy tones. Flavor had heavy candy like notes. Dry finish.

Sep 11, 2008 Pours pale gold with a thin white head. Smells of residual sugar and has some saison aualities, but they are all garbled. Tastes fruity and overly sweet for the style.
