Commercial Description:
Malts: German Pils and Carapils
Hops: Amarillo, Saaz, Hersbrucker and Tettnang
We call this beer an Uber Pils - a pilsner style bock lager. Rich, malty, and well rounded but with a firm structure of noble hops. Surprisingly pale in color for such a powerful, complex beer. Available year round beginning Feb. 05.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a small white head that fades to a thin ring and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of floral and light citrus hops with a light sweet malt background. Slightly sweet with a spicy, earthy, and light citrus hop flavor. Medium mouthfeel that finishes dry and very clean with the alcohol being very well hidden. I’m not a big fan of lagers but this one was tasty.

this was pretty darn good. picked four high seas up in KY, they did not disappoint. golden colored strong with better than average malt flavor and enough hops to linger into the smooth finish.

Nice aroma, heavy malt with a lot of citrus hop aroma, spicey notes all throughout the aroma. Dark blonde, golden color. Decent amount of hops, some bready yeasty flavor typical of pils and lagers, with a good hop bite. Some citrus and pine hop flavors in the end, finishes very clean, so far my favorite Clipper City beer i’ve tried.

I enjoyed this one. Surprisingly good. I typically am not the biggest fan of the lager/pilsener style. Had something to it.

Bottle from a sampler 6 pack, best by June 2007. Clear orange-gold with large head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is nicely subtle, mostly malt and bubblegum esters reminiscent of a Belgian ale! Medium body is deliciously smooth. Flavor is delicately balanced, with malt taking top billing over some nice hops by a slender margin. Alcohol is slightly noticeable in a good way, smooth not harsh. I was disappointed to see this was a lager when I pulled it from the six-pack, but this is surprisingly excellent beer. I think this is the best American-brewed lager I have sampled.

12oz brown bottle purchased as part of a multi-pack at Florian’s. Translucent amber body with a half inch of off-white head that leaves a small amount of lacing. Smells like apricot and caramel malt with hints of yeast. Tastes like caramel malt with supporting citrus hops. Rich sweetness dominates the flavor. Seems like a hint of mint in this brew too. Full flavor is complimented by a creamy mouthfeel and a moderate amount of carbonation. Overall a well-made drinkable beer.
